Single Brush, not meant for carding raw fibers
The seller does not claim this carder is meant to prepare fibers for spinning. It comes as a single brush. The brush is small. It will easily fit in a bag. It is 4 1/2 inches wide by 2 1/4 inches. The tine (pin)section is about 3 7/8 inches long by 1 1/3 inches deep. The tines are about 1/4 of an inch long. The handle is 4 1/2 inches long by 2 inches in diameter. It will easily remove all pills from clothing as long as it is natural - wool, cashmere; it does not work well on synthetic fibers or even wool synthetic blends - even 10% synthetic is a problem. I haven't tried it on pets. It would probably work well since it is small. Two would made the pet very happy if used at the same time. For serious spinning or other fiber arts this is not a good way to start, since it is only one brush, it's small, and not designed for heavy use. For carding animal or plant fibers you need two of these brushes. I rated this product a 4 since it does not work as well for de-fuzzing synthetics, or removing synthetic pills, and for the title carding brush, otherwise I would give 5 stars. It's a great product for removing pills from natural fabrics. This does what is listed by the seller, but since it does not claim to be for carding raw fiber, I did not take that into account when I rated it 4 stars. If you want good carders for raw fibers you should spend 5-10 times as much or $50 to $100 unless you get cheap carders or carding brushes on sale.Someone again asked me why I gave this 4 stars. A previous person asked if it was worthy of 4 stars when you can only use it to brush a dog. I gave it 4 stars since it does exactly what is advertised. If you want to use it to card roving, it would rate a 2 or 3 since it only handles small amounts and you need a second brush. I do use it for carding, but only for small amounts.

Worked great !
We used this brush on a very large sheepskin rug prior to and after a wash in a large machine at the laundry. It worked great and the rug looks amazing ! The rug we used it on was going to be thrown out but we were able to rescue it thanks to this great brush and some specialized shampoo.

Serves its purpose but is very tiny
I hoped to see that these, being called carders, would have longer tines then a dog slicker brush, but, they are smaller then a big dog slicker. Since I only had one big dog slicker, I use one of these 'carders' with my big dog brush.

Fair Value, all points considered.
We have a Shih Tzu/Schnauzer mix, with long fine hair. We use this brush first, and then comb him with a steel comb after the carding brush removes the surface snarls. It seems to do the job, and seems to be easier than combing alone. The brush is not real fancy, but it did not cost much either. I think we paid less than $10 delivered. When I rate an item, I try to weigh the cost vs Quality and factor in delivery costs, then decide upon stars. Had the brush been significantly more, I may have rated it less stars. All things considered, I give it a five star rating.

That actually worked great! So then I did my pillows and decided ...
I was'nt sure this was worth it when I got the package a little while ago. Until I used it on my large sheep skin rug! WOW what a difference it made! My puppies had some accidents on my rug so I was forced to wash it in my bath tub. That actually worked great! So then I did my pillows and decided to use the brush on those too even though they are supposed to look curly. I LOVE the way they turned out. Brush in nightstand ready for next fluffing, maybe Ill do my BeBe Jacket collar too :)

You would be better off purchasing a brush from Dollar Tree
First this brush is much smaller than it appears on the product listing page. I could probably find larger brushes at my local dollar tree store. I originally kept this item because I assumed it was a better quality that what I would find at another location but i was wrong again... This brush broke after using it only a couple times. I can't recommend anyone purchase this. If you need a small "Carding Brush" you'll be better off going to Dollar Tree and browsing their pet section... it's basically the same thing and you wont get pissed when it breaks.
