A beautiful ending to The Jaipur Trilogy
In a befitting closure of the Jaipur trilogy, Alka Joshi takes us to Paris, into Radha s life! Long gone are the days when a juvenile Radha became susceptible to the charms of Ravi Singh! She is married to Pierre and has two little daughters, she also works at the House of Eve.All is not rosy tho, her husband cant cope with her working for a career and its the only place Radha feels alive - recreating scents comes naturally to her and also highlights her odorant connection to India.Radha is tasked with creating an unique scent - her first major task. To find perfect blend she travels to India, with Lakshmi she goes into the lives of the Courtesans of Agra. The lives of the ladies here forms a central part of the book.Things however get murkier when her first born son, who she had to give away to Kanta, who she wanted to shut out comes back into her life.Amidst trouble at all spheres of life how does Radha get through into the essence of life?Tying up all loose ends and with a glimpse of all our favourites from the past books - this book is a celebration of womanhood for me, a special mention is this regard goes to Radha s mother in law and a young girl at a kotha who dreams of space!I have been a fan of Joshi s writing and the ending I believe is quite matched with what happens in the real world!

An enthralling read
This book is a trove of knowledge into the world of a perfumist. It sheds light on the dedicated and painstaking processes involved in extracting scents from natural sources. I love the way the protagonist describes even emotions and situations using fragrances- one for regret, one for betrayal, one for joy and so on. The author brings alive a perfumist's world and the fragrances through her vivid and well researched descriptions. She also delves into the challenges, struggles and biases that working mothers face. The story is filled with powerful female characters who are bold enough to stand up for what is right and for what they want and carve their own destinies, defying age old patriarchal norms. This is a powerful, feministic and fragrant read with important social messages on women's empowerment. Strongly recommended 👌

Not as good as the first 2
Somehow I didn't like the narrative shifting to Paris. Although it's a decent book

loved every book in this trilogy, a must read
The Perfumist of Paris by Alka Joshi, the third book in the Jaipur Trilogy and I have loved each book in this series so much. This one is set-up in Paris, where Radha is now thirty-two and living in Paris with her husband, Pierre, and their two daughters. When her friend’s grandfather offered her a job at his perfumeries, she quickly discovered she had a talent—she could find the perfect fragrance for any customer who walked in the door. Paris and Perfumes, I did not need anything else for me to pick up this book. Both the things are dearly loved by me.The starting of this book was very strong and trust me when I say this post reading this book I want to be a perfumist myself (lol). The way Alka Joshi has very creatively and vividly explained the notes of fragrances as well as scents, I am in awe with her work even more. I can see her writing style improve so much in this book as compared to the first one.If you are someone who is looking at powerful female characters and Indian stories with family dynamics and background being the core but also at the same time females finding their way through life, pick up this series without a doubt. This will not disappoint at all. I have so much more to say but I do not want my readers to have any spoilers, hence just pick up the books. ;)
