Spiral bound chess scorebook much better than hardcover
My son is in his school's chess club and recently went to his first tournament. When looking for a chess scorebook I wanted one that was spiral bound, so it could be opened and folded over to take up less space on the chess table. The spiral binding also allows the book to lay completely flat. Unlike the hardcover scorebooks that have a curve by the binding when open. Although the hardcover chess scorebooks look fancier and sturdier, they take up twice the amount of space on the table when opened.50 games per book is more than enough. When it's used up, move on to a new fresh one. No need to carry around a thick hardcover scorebook of blank sheets all the time. Just carry what you need. The cover is cardboard similar to pizza boxes but a bit thicker. Not the most durable, but it's fine for 50 games. Nice and lightweight. I also really like the off-white, ivory color of the interior pages. Not the typical stark white printer paper.

Well Formatted Score Pads
A chess player does not want a fancy score sheet during a rated game. These are not fancy and are formatted with sufficient space for move scores. They are essential chess equipment.

Useful for beginners
My 7yo recently taught me how to play chess and now we both really love playing together! I got this to help us take things to the next level as we never really keep score or anything. We use a magnetic board but sometimes pieces get bumped and we forget where we were or we pause a day or two and forget who's turn it was or whatever. This also has some diagrams to teach us some new moves. It's very analog but that's nice with kids sometimes to stay off screens! She has adhd but is able to hyperfocus and we have so much fun we don't want to stop playing! I never thought I would enjoy it as much as I do.
