Four Stars
Expansion was in Italian not English as listed, thankfully rules are available online. Otherwise spot on.

Extend the challenge of the game...
Lovely pieces. Bought as a christmas gift and can't wait to see how they get incorporated into the game which is so consuming for my husband (I'm not a strategic games player so it's not for me)!

Mosquito veto? Good luck with that!
The Mosquito is the X-Men Rogue of Hive. It’s a “game changer” etc etc.It shouldn’t need re-painting, yet here we are…Placed alongside the strong colours used for the other full-size playing pieces, these dark grey Mosquitoes, as sold, are even harder to see against black than the brown Spiders (unless you’re prepared to play under bright spotlights - like the one I use in the photo). The dark grey does nothing to enhance the piece or the set.Still used in the latest production batch #21002_2, this Mosquito paint problem has been around since 2016.Nope, that’s not a typo. Twenty. Sixteen. Look at the bottom right in the customer feedback photo above. In the other photo, I’m part-way through applying silver acrylic ink to the second mosquito with a fine brush, cocktail stick etc. Water-soluble pearlescent inks are easier to apply than enamel paints + thinners. (The inks become waterproof when dry.)The ridiculous thing is, the choice of grey is fine in the Hive Pocket version (launched way back in 2012) - but of course, those mosquitoes are manufactured and sold as part of the Pocket set and not as a separate expansion, as they are for the full-size colour version of Hive. It’s been almost seven years and it would appear that the manufacturer responsible for the Hive Mosquito Expansion is still choosing to be asleep at the wheel.Gen Four Two, this you?None of this would be much of a problem if these expansion pieces were optional. Yet every Hive guide book, video tutorial, mobile app and online game promotes them as essential; and indeed they are for intermediate and advanced players.Much of the quality control and expansion price gouging would be solved if the importance of these pieces was acknowledged by the manufacturer and carried through to its logical conclusion :It is high time for all 28 Hive pieces in a set to be made together and sold together as a set. Same for Carbon; same for Pocket. How hard can it be? They wouldn’t even have to redesign the boxes. All the existing Hive and Hive-variant packaging has been plenty big enough for at least the last ten years!Hive is regularly compared to Chess, which is ironic, given that Chess players don’t have to put up with this sort of nonsense since they are free to purchase from a far greater number of sources. So will these changes happen? No, of course they won’t. It’s been seven years for a reason…Just follow the money.

A good addition to the original game but not the best quality
Great addition to the game but make sure you buy the correct size and not the travel size if you have the original game. These pieces fit the original game :)Only reason for a 3 star review is because of the quality of the pieces. They're quite dull in appearance - you can barely make out the mosquito on the black tile. They're also grossly overpriced.
