Check the paper thicknesses
Like these moleskine notebooks, light to carry every day. But check the paper thickness. If you’re not using pencils, not thick enough to use double sides of the pages.

decreasing quality
I own an older version of these notebooks, and I used it as sketchbook that worked well with alcohol-based markers without too much bleeding (sure, you cannot use the back of the page, but it is always the case with markers). It was even recommended, by some artists, as an everyday sketchbook for ink and markers. Now, this new version has a *much* lower quality. The paper surface feels very different,, less resistant, different coating, quite cheap. The ink from a fineliner pen is very much visible on the other side of the page (so not really useful for note-taking either) and bleeds through the paper for thick applications. The application of markers is also very different compared with the older version: you can actually see the marker "ink" almost puddling on the paper before being absorbed and bleeding quite heavily through the paper. I expect drawing on this paper will empty your markers very quickly. The picture shows the bleeding of markers marks on a sheet of bristol paper that was placed underneath the old and new version of the notebook page during the marker application.

I love this Moleskine's series!
I'm using the Moleskine Cahier Plain XL over 2 years for personal scrapbook and this is my third notebook I purchased. Pages weights, enough for me using back side as well. (I also use Unipin Fine Line pen which is great) I like the page stitching detail.*highly recommend.

Beautiful paper. Wonder if I can find a lined version.
As always moleskin is a beautiful product. Great paper and inspires me to get the watercolours out of storage. Good pricing, I believe. Thank you.b.

Nice for university lecture notes
Used for university lecture notes, quality of paper is lovely, a bit on the thin side but it's perfect enough for notes. The lines are narrow ruled and it's a decent size.
