The blade is microserated to help with fraying. It cuts straight, you cannot see the zig zag.

No idea. Scissors are very similar to name brand. I had to return first pair, but second pair cuts well

I don’t personally do goldwork, but I see no reason these scissors shoulnd’t work just fine. They’re strong with fine serrations on one blade; very sharp with a good defined point. I have several pair in different sizes and all I use for all my hand sewing.
