This is a fun toy for toddlers and young children with a number of different facets to it's use. First, it is a wheeled pullalong toy, with a string attached to the front to pull it by. It is a little truck, with a driver and passenger in, with a trailer behind, with another two passengers. The driver and passengers are a monkey, an elephant, a lion and (I think) a giraffe; quite cute little happy faces.There is also a 'building block' element to the toy as each of the animal characters disassemble into three pieces, which can then be reassembled differently, if you wish. The pieces slot onto vertical dowels on each of the seats of vehicle. So you can choose which animal is the driver, and which are in the various passenger spots. You can also easily decouple the trailer from the car.Most of the pieces of the toy are in a natural wood finish; I think different types of wood are used as some pieces look a darker shade than others. Each of the animal heads are painted in different colours and four of the body pieces are painted in a matching colour to one of the heads.I guess it was a style decision to paint just a few of the pieces in what we might call a 'limited palette' of colours and it does give it quite a stylish, sophisticated look. Would a young child prefer more colours in a brighter range? Possibly, I think, but that doesn't stop this form being an attractive, fun toy to give a young child a lot of fun and activity.
