Will it damage or peel skin off if you put it on your nose?

Yes, it will peel the skin off your nose. It is nothing like any moleskin I have ever bought. It is supposed to be soft. It is actually very sharp & thin. Check around please.

Can this be applied to the inside of shoes?

The glue on the moleskin is very strong. It may be difficult to remove from shoe liners.

Is this moleskin 1/4 inch thick?

No it is not... it is as thick as duck tape... it is 1/4 inch wide... basically the picture that comes with the product is pretty accurate.

Will it stick to the inside of the toe box in my running shoes?

I don't know about the toe but it didn't last but one time in the heel area of my shoes. It just rolled up.
