Easy mount - never questioned safety
Easy mount for all 3 bikes - strapping front tires together the bikes were steady on both side roads and highways - no damage to spare tire, car, or the bikes - best bike rack for mounting on a back spare tire still allowing us to open the back door

great product
nice and sturdy. fits my 2005 rav4 with no problem. holds bike very secure...i am giving it a 4 star rather than a 5 because it doesn't fold and it sort of sticks out from the back of the car.

This rack does not fit a 2008 Toyota RAV4
I have a tire support bracket on my Rav4 model so the mounting plate does not fit. If you have a tire support bracket, you have to go with the more expensive Yakima product because they have an adapter plate that can be removed - It fits right on. Plus Yakima has a more precise web tool to determine if the rack actually fits your vehicle. I really wanted this to work, but it didn't.

Bike mount won't fit unless it's modified
The website indicates that this bike mount would fit a Toyota Rav 4 2011.Unfortunately, it won't fit unless you cut out the flange on the spare tiremount as shown on the picture. Other than that it's a decent bike rack.

Doesn’t work well
In theory this is a great product. In actuality, when we put three bikes on it and traveled a thousand miles, it scratched the paint off all of our bikes and even damaged the gears on one of our bikes. It also damaged our Jeep tire by creating a dent.

Do not recommend
Got the rack assembled on the Jeep (2014 Wrangler) and it was wobbly, the fit wasn’t great. Loaded the bikes and didn’t even make it down the driveway before the stability strap broke.

Nope
The product manual listed the mount as able to fit on my 97 Jeep Wrangler, however, the holes did not line up exactly. I was able to mount it but there were three pegs and I could only get two pegs in and the bottom one through the blank space on the mount. I used this to transport my three bikes cross country, I weighed and they were under the max weight, and during the driving, I hit a bump and the metal bolt snapped completely and the rack fell off along with my three bikes, seriously damaging them.

Not for RAV4 spare tire
The list provided by the company clearly stated this item would work for a 2011 RAV4 and it did not. Company would not let me return even though it was falsely advertised. Terrible customer service.
