These work!
These are great deterrents. We had two vehicles get wires chewed by rats and squirrels. In all fairness I think the squirrels were just trying to stay warm near the engine but, do make a big mess. In winter 2021 my wife’s Jeep was in the garage, $1200 in damage as it required the CPU be replaced along with a couple of the wiring harnesses. In winter 2022 my truck was outside and luckily only has had wires chewed up and discovered before major damage. They did manage to kill the signal from a knock sensor so I will have to get that fixed at some point. We tried all sorts of deterrents over a couple of years dealing with this. Bought these in September ‘24. It is almost February’25 and no more rat droppings, urine, chewed wires or acorn shells.

No more rodents
Very easy to install. Since installing on my car I have not had any rodents up under my hood. I recommend this for anybody who has rodent problems

Tired of pack rats!
UPDATE: Had this on my car for 8 months. Noticed my check engine light was on again, for slick roads. I found a big nest on top of the engine and tons of acorns stocked up. Then, found that the rat had chewed the wires to the rat repeller. The same thing happened to my husband's truck last week. These rats are expensive! After 2 trips to a shop in 2 weeks for my car having pack rat nest under the manifold, chewing sensors wires, I was fed up. I ordered these after the 1st time. My husband had the same problem last Nov. I was really surprised about the 2nd event. The auto tech said that the repeller fuse was not working and he replaced it. So, far its working on my husband's truck. But, failed me the 2nd time when I received a defected product. So, if you buy this, make sure to check on it still working. I just didn't want to use any poisons because we have 3 dogs.

Dogs hear it, operates when car in motion.
Advertised as not harmful to pets but my dog could hear it end was very disturbed by the sounds. Also the unit did not appear to shut off when the car was in motion, another advertised feature that did not appear to function. I returned it.

Much better than expected.
Bought this for inside my Hot tub. The old ultrasonic I had died. This is much better. Smaller, fits inside perfect. Works with my old DC adapter.

works but will drain your battery too much
I bought this to use on my tractor which had mice damage, chewed wire. So far it has worked at keeping the mice out but I also use sent deterrent so not sure which works better or a combination of both. I keep a battery tender on the tractor since it is not in use on a regular basis so have had no issues with it. But I also used one in my car that has had mice in the engine bay multiple times, thankfully no damage. I do not keep a battery tender on the car and this device will drain the battery to I think 9 volts before it alarms you that the voltage is too low. That is too low and will damage your batter. I do not drive this car but maybe one or twice a week and the battery went down to 5 volts and I couldn't get it to recover and had to buy a new battery even though this one was only a couple of years old. I now keep a battery tender on the car as well and no more issues.

So far so good
I've had several occurrences of squirrels chewing through my vehicles' electrical harnesses (yes....PLURAL). I've tried rodent-repellent sprays, repellent electrical tape, live traps....you name it. This device seems to be having some luck in deterring the miserable little critters. It required a different connector to fit on to my truck battery, but after a quick trip to the hardware store, the device was relatively easy to install. My son says he can hear it when he walks by it. I can't. Older ears will be oblivious to the high-pitched signal. The device only engages when the vehicle is not running....or so it says. I can't confirm or deny this. There's also a blinking light that it has which is not noticeable until you lift the hood of the vehicle. I imagine it's pretty irritating to the little furry monsters.

No evidence of effectiveness.
I don’t believe these have any effect. I placed on in the middle of my 12x12 foot backyard shed in Connecticut in late April 2025 with 5 mousetraps placed around the floor. The device is still running (the lights blink and the FM ultrasound is emitted) but this week (a month after installation) I caught 3 mice in the traps. There is no evidence the mice are being repelled.
