Xerox 120gsm A4 Colotech Plus Gloss Coated Paper - White Ream

The Xerox ColoTech range is available in several weights and finishes and suitable for use in laser printers. The paper offers dual-sided printing which, at this paper weight of 120 gsm and beyond, should wholly eliminate show-through from one side of the sheet to the other. Potentially suitable for photographic reproduction (assessment rather than display), booklets, small posters and other such uses.Having long used Xerox papers at home and workplace for monochrome printing and copying, but less so recently as there are now so many laser-compatible paper brands, there remains some brand confidence. There are very few brands that offer colour laser compatible papers in a glossy finish. The gloss is lower than that of traditional photographic materials and inkjet glossy papers which should not be used in lasers as their gel coating will melt and potentially jam them.120 gsm is 50% heavier than 80 gsm and the paper is packaged as a true ream of 500 sheets and should be compatible with all laser printers; heavier weights than this are packed in smaller quantities of 400 or fewer but prospective purchasers should check the maximum paper weight accepted by their own printer(s) as they can dramatically differ.Results using the paper showed an extra 'snap' to the output with slightly brighter colours. Surprisingly, the differences when comparing the same image on plain paper and on this were less dramatic than was expected. Not appreciated at the time was that this is a specifically recommended paper and brand suggested by the printer manufacturer.

There are only a limited amount of media available for laser printing of photos. This paper does a good job an a Brother 3150 even with the default icc profile. Not as good as an inkjet but am happy with quality.

Please note this item is wrongly listed as Colourtech Plus Glossy Paper. It is in fact Xerox Colourtech Plus , product number 003R99009, and good quality paper, but nonetheless not as described. True Xerox Colourtech Plus Glossy Paper is 003R90336. The seller has apologised and will refund me the money, one hopes they will alter their Amazon description to be accurate.
