I bought these to use in jewelry making. I use them to make sure my beads are aligned and not rolling everywhere. It make’s designing jewelry bracelets a lot easier. The ends might have a burr on them just file it down and use plastic earring backs on the ends for stoppers.

I usually do not write a review but these are so bad the user needs to be informed. First, they are not straight something you require from a drill rod. Second the ends were just clipped off and not cut as you would expect and the not finished. My application was using these as guide pins and I was out of time so I took them to the grinder to finish. Never again from this vender as they are pure crap IMHO.

There isn't really much to be said about these. They are steel rods. They can be used as steel rods can be used. So we will explain how we used them.We took these to a miter saw and cut them down to size. We then 3D printed some parts to form trays and track pieces. These were used to create the height between the printed trays. Everything was installed into a cabinet and the trays slide in and out, holding spices and stuff in the break area. Cool? We think so. Did the steel rods work? Yes.

I purchased these to use in designing a tool to align some very small parts. Some of them were bent in shipping which limited their usefulness but I did get enough straight material in the lot to finish the task at hand.

Cutting a length of rod and dressing the ends should not be very difficult.For this vendor the process is too much of a challenge.Expect large burrs on both ends.

These 3mm shafts are just slightly over 3mm. 3.005-3.006mm to be precise. Also, they are cut with a shear, so the ends are significantly deformed for use with a bearing such as these: oversizehttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RN5139M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 That said, there are plenty of 'hobby' uses, which don't require ball bearings. It's my fault though, I should have bought precision ground material which is toleranced typically +0/-0.01 or whatever. You will need to clean up the end cuts and reduce the diameter a small amount to use with bearings.

Good quality steel for making small pins for small projects.Cut easily with a dremel.Good and straight (as much as is reasonable for small diameters) and a consistent diameter throughout their lengths.
