Fantastic sturdy Slow Feeder
I bought this for my 6 month old Labrador. He gobbles his food, so this purchase was to replace a previous smaller slow feeding bowl. This bowl is very sturdy and big, it easily takes 225g of kibble and would fit double that amount if needed. My pup takes around 10 minutes to eat his food now instead of 60 seconds. It washes up well. I don’t think it can be put in the dishwasher, so I use a squirt of washing up liquid, soak for a couple of minutes and rinse. I would definitely recommend this bowl, especially for larger breed puppies and dogs. My pup enjoys the challenge of eating his food too.

Excellent product
This has managed to extend the dogs' feeding time from less than a minute flat to about 5 or 6 minutes. Bought it 'cos one of my shelties is regurgitating food and this should help. Also going to feed them 4 times daily instead of twice (same amount). I'm hopeful that this will help stop the regurgitation. An update just short of a year after purchase……..I still think this an excellent product but although my dogs are fed dry kibble, you still need to clean the dish. Someone said that this is not necessary with dry food. Do not believe it. It would be totally unhygienic not to wash it fairly regularly…I'm not saying every day but say once a week or so. And that's the rub. It is very difficult to clean properly. I find myself soaking them (2) in boiling water with domestos in it. That's reasonably successful and then I wash it with fairy liquid….all by hand. Not ideal but despite this I think it is an excellent product. (I have 2 Shetland Sheepdogs) and they are blessed with longish snouts. An addendum........ After washing the bowls one fell off the draining board, and smashed on the floor. The end result was some sharp edges where the dog could damage its tongue. SO I've just bought another one to replace it (3 years old anyway). Must be good !!

Pretty good really
I bought this bowl for my Labrador who eats his food in under 30 seconds. With this bowl, his feed time has been extended to about 2 minutes. Pretty good really, although I had hoped it would take him longer. Nevertheless, this is a great quality bowl and I'm really impressed by the company, who sent me the most lovely response when I gave feedback on the bowl. Simply Pets Online provide great quality, carefully designed and selected products as well as giving a service with passion and commitment. I would urge any potential purchaser to buy from this lovely, dedicated, professional company.

Brilliant.
This bowl is a real blessing. My dog gulps his food down which sometimes causes vomitting. With this bowl, his eating time is at least quadrupled. It's far superior quality to those in my local pet shops (they're cheap plastic, half the size and badly designed) but, given its large size, works out much cheaper.I love the organic feel, and the peaked design is well thought through - making your dog really work away at their food. This is a hard wearing, well designed product. The price is ridiculously good compared to others out there.Seriously, if you're looking for an anti-gulping bowl or a feeder you can use as a treat puzzle, this is the one.

Very happy dog owners!
Well - what a great purchase this turned out to be!Our young border terrier pup is a cracking dog in all ways .....but he does tend to gobble his food in a frantic series of breathless gulps! This got us concerned that he may not be 'digesting' his food properly. After a bit of research we found this slow-feed bowl and decided to buy based on a few reasons i) first and foremost - by virtue of the slower intake of food - it should help prevent bloat etc in the pup ii) the bowl was designed by veterinary professionals (important!) and iii) it is manufactured from environmentally friendly materials. On receipt of the bowl - we were immediately impressed with the robust construction and also the intricate, thought-out 'maze' pattern - obviously designed to move the dog around whilst eating. This turned out to be just that - our pup had to move around the bowl to get to his food and also had to carefully 'pick up' his food as opposed to just 'gobbling'.My wife is also extremely impressed with the included instructions and link to instruction video - all very useful and educational! All in all - very happy and have now recommended the bowl to our 'dog-walking' group of friends!

A brilliant idea. I have young rescue dog of unknown breed, possibly cross Pointer/Lab/Spaniel??? I have put her in to a vet plan food, which is in quite small portions and she ate the whole lot in a couple of seconds and was looking for more. This bowl has been great at slowing her down to enjoy her food, and now she seems more settled when its all gone and satisfied with her portion of food. Fantastic idea. Easy to clean, especially using dried food and to be honest I wouldn't fancy trying to smear wet food into the spaces, I find the smell of wet dog food makes me gag! Very sturdy and looks like it will easily last the lifetime of our dog. An all round winner. Well done to simplypetsonline for coming up with such a good product.

Great bowl, but maybe not suitable for the stronger dog
Bought this bowl 6 months ago to stop my 6 year old (very greedy) Golden Retriever bolting his food down. Accepting the comments of others with regard to the difficulty of cleaning it by hand, I was still a 5* satisfied customer until last week when a hole appeared at the top of the external edge of one of the 'wavy' raised walls. I found the crunched up remnants of the one centimeter hole at the side of the bowl, so I guess it's a possibility that he took an accidental bite out of it, trying too hard to get a particularly hard to extract bit of kibble. Unless it was caused by a manufacturing fault, I would happily recommend it for less strong dogs, but I am a little upset it only lasted for 6 months.
