Simply love it
I love technology and all that comes with it. This beautiful laptop made my Alienware obsolete. My tower is now just being used as a server. This beauty is my gaming companion. Not only that I enjoy the software by Asus that keeps everything current. My laptop is quiet and eveygame I trun on the highest settings. I don't see this beauty going away for at least another 4 years. Could stay around longer but I love technology and it's advances and maybe by then it will be worth buying another laptop. Cons is the battery life is bad but I stay plugged in and the camera is bad but I don't use it. This is a gamers must buy if you have the funds.

disappointing
Arguably the slowest most expensive laptop I have ever owned. The touch pad is super bad moves cursor to unknown locations and the charging port doesn't work - if moved one inch one way or another it's stops charging (this is a common issue with most ASUS's i have owned but in this model it's in spades

Awesome upgrade
Had a 4 year old Strix 17. This is a great upgrade to that. Love the 17 inch screen. Runs anything I throw at it on highest settings.

Multiple software issues
While this machine has top tier hardware issues with software prevent the hardware to perform to the best of its potential. Multiple popups at unexpected times slow down the user's productivity. These popups are the result of trial programs that I would never have paid for in the first place. I have purchased previous ASUS machines that did not suffer from this type of program bloat and wonder what has changed.

Desktop level in Gaming and Rendering
I bought this laptop two weeks ago from the local market, and I have one recommendation: disable the integrated GPU (AMD 610M) in device manager.Reesons: 1. High power draw in both AMD and Nvidia GPUs while idle and when unplugged, the battery loses 50% in 30 minutes while running nothing (idle).2. Nvidia Optimus is not optimized; the GPUs have high power draw.3. Nvidia OpenGL errors and OpenGL out of memory warning messages in the event viewer4. In Eco mode, the Nvidia GPU will keep switching between extreme power savings and high performance until it causes a blue screen while browsing web pages.I tried a clean Windows installation with updated and stock drivers but did not solve the problem.Your laptop will flawlessly work without the AMD integrated GPU 610M.Great gaming and rendering.

Didn’t last for a month before black screen of death
When this product works it’s amazing, but if you do a little research, this laptop has a lot of issues. I randomly got a black screen and couldn’t boot it into windows. Apparently this is a common problem with this laptop. Don’t buy asus laptops.

Terrible lifespan for pricetag
I purchased this product (G733PY) and it has given me nothing but problems for the past year. Initially very powerful but with poor thermal management out of the box which quickly killed performance. I RMA'd the laptop after about 8 months and they allegedly replaced some small components but it only lowered the peak temp of the CPU from 105 degrees to 103, still well outside healthy levels. (This is without even attempting to overclock or increase performance at any point.)Now after about owning the device for slightly over a year it is beginning to die; constant high temps, BSODS with various error codes, etc. I have to backup my projects daily as I'm afraid they will become entombed in the laptop every time a power it up. Not to mention they gated the BIOS in favor of always on "Armoury Crate" which uses about 75mb of ram at all times. Not looking forward to spending 3-4k on a replacement barely a year after purchase. I've used almost exclusively ASUS products for 15 years and I think this will be the last one for a very long time.
