Great Phone for Seniors – Simple, Loud, and Thoughtfully Designed”
I purchased the LIVELY Jitterbug Smart4 for my 93-year-old mom, and it’s been a fantastic choice overall. She’s never been very tech-savvy, but this phone is designed with clarity and simplicity in mind. The large screen, big text, and straightforward menu make it easy for her to use without getting overwhelmed. The speaker is loud and clear, which is a huge plus for anyone with hearing difficulties. She can hear it ring from another room, and phone calls are crisp and easy to follow. The touch screen is responsive, and the simplified home screen keeps everything she needs—like the phone, camera, and messages—right up front.Setup was relatively easy, and customer support through Lively has been very friendly and patient. Just note that the phone must be activated with a Lively plan—it’s not compatible with other carriers, so make sure that works for your needs before purchasing. The only slight downside is the learning curve that comes with any smartphone for someone her age—but with time and encouragement, she’s gotten the hang of calling, texting, and even using the camera.✅ Excellent for seniors with vision or hearing concerns✅ Large icons, simple interface, and great support✅ Peace of mind with emergency features if neededI feel good knowing she’s connected and safe with a phone that was truly made for her stage in life. Would definitely recommend to others caring for elderly parents.

I can rave about this phone. Don't reserve it for the elderly.
This is my fourth jitterbug and it has been seriously upgraded. On sale the price was apx $60. It is quite responsive, large, and has a fun, helpful "hey Google" feature. It will order a Lyft ride and pay the driver (added to monthly fee). Will provide emergency services and help if you are lost. Monthly charge is very affordable. Don't reserve these for the elderly. Use it yourself, give it to your child. Really, I could rave. I have an iPhone, which I don't use. I don't need to use it.

A good option for seniors or young people
The phone was not too difficult to activate online, once you find the activation page. You have to activate it with Lively, it cannot be used on any other service. It is large enough for most people to see the screen well. It has a clear and simple menu, which can be adjusted as needed in the options. For a Senior who can learn, it will not take much effort to master the phone. Since it is an android, some features from google are available. An account from google will help transfer contacts to the phone. It is able to share location with other users of Google Maps without purchasing the Lively upgrade to track the phone location in a separate app. We are not using the advanced emergency response services from Lively yet but expect to in the future. For Seniors who cannot learn there are a couple of issues. It does not have a lift to wake feature, requiring the push button on the side to be pressed. This can be confusing for a person with some dementia to learn if they are transitioning from an Iphone to this phone. Another issue is the contact list provided through Google contacts permits favorites which are displayed on the top of the list if you open contacts, or if you open the phone app, but not if you open texts. These minor differences may be hard to learn for someone without a memory. The solution is probably to delete all of the contacts except a few critical ones, and eliminate the favorites. It is also possible to turn off the lock screen to make access simpler, but it will have no security at that point. We will see how it works, and I may update this review. At this point it appears to be the best option for a simple phone with actual features.

No speed dial Misleading Unlimited Data. No refund on phone if returned
I purchased the Jitterbug phone for my sister and unfortunately it did not work out. The reason why I returned it was there is no speed dialing. To make a call it required 5 steps. And It was not possible to add a contact to the menu.I called to cancel the cell plan and they refused to refund the $68 or prorate it. I only had the phone for about a week and spent all that time trying to get the phone to work. You read all about how you have 30 days to try it out. I thought if it didn't work out I would not be charged for the monthly phone plan or it would be prorated. I feel this is misleading. And I have been taken advatage of.There are a lot of other problems.Unlimited DataUnlimited data plan slows down after 20 gb. From 300 mg to 128 kb. It crawls. And if you think 20 gb is a lot it is not. My sister is in a nursing home, their wifi is always down and she uses between 35 - 40 gb a month. Just playing games. No video, no music just games.Setup:It took more than 2 hours to setup the phone. Activation took 40 mins. They would not contact me directly to an agent to help me set up the phone. I had to wait 15 mins while they reset the phone. I had to call back 3 times each time I had to wait 15 mins then call back. I was also disconnected once. After an hour I finally reached an agent who was great, Diane, she remotely accessed my phone and did a great job. the call lasted 68 mins.Factory Resets:I had to do 2 factory restarts. This is when the phone is comepletly wiped. And you have to start all over again. One time it was because of an update. One time my sister got to a blank screen, I don't know how she did it, and the home key would not work. Restart did not help. I had to do a factory reset. The phone is 4g not 5g. You might be surprised, but this does make a difference.I don't write reveiws, positive or negative but I am so upset. I write this reveiw to help you in your research find a good phone for your love one.

Not that easy to use.
Phone functionality:This product is not that easy to use for an elderly person. First you have to navigate to the Home page, then choose the Phone button, then find contacts, and then select call. Too many steps for the elderly to place a call. Should be able to pick up the phone, see the picture of the person you want to call and push their picture to place the call.
