Great Ride for a Pre-teen!
I bought this for my 10 year old grandson, and he loves it! His older brother, who’s 12, also has a Go Trax scooter, but it’s bigger than what I felt the younger one needed, so I decided on this model. It’s styled a little differently and has smaller tires than his brother’s scooter, but it goes as fast as the bigger model, rides for the same mileage, and stays charged just as long, so they can safely ride together. The hook on the neck has come off a couple of times, but we’ve been able to reattach it. Otherwise, we haven’t had any problems in nearly a year of ownership. My grandson says it rides nicely and is small enough that it’s easily portable for his smaller stature. It’s a little sluggish on steep hills, but I think that’s to be expected. Overall, it was a good purchase, and considering we’ve had good luck with 2 Go Trax scooters, I would buy it again.

THIS THING IS NOT FOR A COMUTE LONGER THEN 1.5 MILES
this thing is garbage the battery started to fail after a few weeks in moderate to severe cold weather. I would leave my house with a full charge and after a while it would die mid ride. this was after only after about 1.5 miles Don't let the description deceive you it only has about 3 miles of battery. If you do decide to get this scooter the last bar of battery wouldn't even last you a quarter of a mile. ** DONT BUY THIS THING FOR A LONG COMMUTE** This is for kids not for adults or even teens. unless where your trying to go is under a mile away. do not take this scooter you will be stranded and you will be walking. just save your money and get something quality. for the quality of life aspect. Its terrible. you WILL feel every bump. And because of the weird safety break mechanism. You might just crash if it makes u come to a sudden halt after one tiny bump. Every part of the scooter feels low quality and crappy. In the end unless your looking for this as a gift for a young child 14 and under. DO NOT GET THIS SCOOTER

More like 3.5 stars...good starter escooter for kids
UPDATE w/ ADULT RIDER (me): 140 lb short adult, 1st time on scooter, started at 7ish mph to get bearings, zoomed up to 9-10 mph at which speed I enacted cruise control. Scooter conked out at 6 miles of traveling. It starts getting hairy once it's down to the 2nd bar on the battery screen. For an appropriate weight adult/larger teen 165 lbs and under (per product weight limit), I can see/feel the advantage of having a wider deck and larger tires for a more comfortable ride. Fine for smaller kids and very short commutes / ride times of no longer than 45 mins. to be safe.Original post:This scooter did not give me problems out of the box like the other 2 I bought here on Amazon, so off to a good start there.Pros:-Proportionately good for smaller/lighter children even with the non-adjustable stem (my undersized 8 y/o zooms on this)-Easy to operate (the 8 y/o tried his brother's larger 8.5" wheel scooter w/ the squeeze brake on the handle and was awkward for him)-Light(er) carryCons:-Has an extra screw/clip piece where the scooter folds that has to be done/undone. Scared to lose the thing. Okay if it's going to stay unfolded/ride-ready and not loaded in the car.-Battery life is not sufficient for the things WE do as a family. Should work well if ridden hyper locally in a neighborhood or a short ways to school. We get about just over an hour's riding time with the 8 y/o punching it at varying levels. However, we tend to go to a park with an 8 mile paved path that has elevation changes and have to make a turn around at a certain point. If kid is not paying attention to the power levels ***I*** have to push this scooter back on my rollerblades while he hitches a ride back with his brother. I have done this 2x already and its it's getting REAL OLD.Semi-con:-Solid tires on bad pavement provides a rough ride. We went to a different park one day with an older paved path and they could feel the difference. But I was specifically looking for solid tires since I am not handy and read about issues with the difficulty of changing flats on these escooters in other reviews on multiple brands. My oldest got a nail in one of his tires on his 2nd time out, so the ride feel is a toss up.In all, this is a good starter escooter that we will keep as a backup. I'm going to have the 8 y/o practice on his brother's scooter here and there so he can get a feel for the squeeze brake. There aren't many escooters out there with adjustable stems, but caught one recently from Caromo that could work that goes from 40"-46".

Best scooter at this price
After a few rides, I was pleasantly surprised by the value I received with this scooter. Most importantly for me, navigating the city is now much faster and more convenient. Compared to other electric scooters in its range, it offers an excellent balance of performance and affordability. The scooter's ergonomic features, including the comfortably really wide handlebars and integrated display, make every ride enjoyable. Also thanks to the engineers for the hook and smart folding mechanism; they've significantly enhanced the scooter's functionality and user experience. Overall, It's a fantastic combination of style and comfort.

Bad experience with GOTRAX customer service do not recommend
I purchased this scooter in February for my son’s 12th birthday. We live in Nebraska so he didn’t get to ride much until it started to warm up. The scooter was great but we had some issues with the screws on the tires. I reached out to go trap customer service because it had been past the time to exchange it on Amazon. They were wonderful I suggested I send the scooter back and they offered to send a new and improved scooter. We said we accept! It was fast shipping go here a week later after we sent the old one back. My son so excited charged it to full battery and rode it for maybe 2 days. The third day charged it to full battery again which takes at least 6 hours. Took it for a ride around our block and it just turned off. He put it on the charger thinking maybe we didn’t fully charge it nope it hasn’t turned on since! So of course I reach out to Go trax customer service to the same person and no one has emailed or tried to call me back. This happened on June 13th. The scooter isn’t turning on and Go Trax customer service will not contact me back! I have sent multiple emails and left voicemails. No one seems to work there and they never answer the phone. Do not recommend. They will tell you they are fixing your problem and sent us a faulty scooter that is worth less now.

Good for short trips
Tested this and got 7 miles from it. Not too fast for travel but sturdy and heavy to bumps and rough roads areas are not much of a factor. Kids rides it to and from school daily.
