Curious George Monkey Costume

I ordered the Curious George INFANT (6mo - 12mo) size costume for my almost 2.5 year old son after reading the reviews on the large sizing. Since the INFANT size costume is a bit cheaper than the next size up (TODDLER) I thought it was worth a try. I wanted to order the costume a little early just in case it didn't fit. The seller advertises free returns on unopened items. I'm assuming this means the head piece, as it was the only item completely sealed in a separate bag.The costume came in a PVC 03 bag with a single button closure. I didn't notice any strong chemical smells coming from the bag. More importantly, the costume itself didn't have any distinguishing smells. The costume is made in China. As mentioned previously, the head piece came completely sealed in a separate bag so I knew it hadn't been worn yet. The body piece is made of a very nice, soft felt. The fabric is 100% polyester. The color is exactly as shown in the advertised picture and is spot on to Curious George. The costume is cut and sewn with attention to detail. There are no jagged edges or sloppy seems. There are a total of 4 Velcro closures sewn into the costume; 1 Velcro closure which is located at the back of the neck for the neck hole, and 3 Velcro closures located on the inseam (1 at the top most inseam and the other 2 on each side of the inner leg.) The Velcro closures are pretty rough and very sturdy. While trying on the body piece my son complained of the scratchy feeling. Once the body piece was on however, the Velcro attachment weren't in contact with him at all. The sleeves have very sturdy elastic cuffs. The feet are attached to the body piece have black soles with black grippy dots.My son loved this costume and recognized it right away as Curious George. He wanted to keep it on even though it was quite snug in overall height (I could see the shoulder area being pulled taught) as well as the foot length (his toes were squished up in the front.) I am returning the INFANT size and getting the next size up (TODDLER). My son wears clothes ranging in size from 6-9 months and 12 months. He is on the petite side, and the 12 month size fit perfect with enough space for a layer or 2 underneath. The underfoot area has rubber dots to give baby traction. The mask/hat velcro is a bit rough, but if tucked in, hat still stays on head

This costume is made of VERY thin felt like material. I am afraid it is going to rip while he is wearing in on Halloween. As other reviewers said, the sizing is way off. My son is 13 months, in the 75th percentile for height and weight and it fits him perfectly. I would size it at 12-18 month.It is pretty cute and my son LOVES it. He wouldn't stop laughing while looking at himself in the mirror. He absolutely loves George! Overall, worth the 15 bucks.

I really was impressed with this costume, it fit just right, wasn’t to think and hot, (In MS we were sweating while trick or treating) good quality, and was super cute. I ordered this for my daughter and I got a little pink bow and attached it to the hat/head since I couldn’t find a girly monkey costume that I liked for her.

Such a cute and warm costume. A tiny bit small though. The hat/head was right and we have a small baby.

Costume is very cute! My son is 12 months old. Fit it well but it was fitted on him. I had read reviews that this runs big, so I ordered 6-12 month. I'd say this runs very true to size. If your child is 12-18 months, the 12 will be too short. My son kicked his legs out so much (he's not walking yet) that he kicked the feet through on both legs after wearing for 2 hours. The material is very very thin (Just like most costumes).

After reading the reviews regarding the size of the costume I was hesitant to purchase it. However, my child is quite petite, 19 months old, and 20 pounds. We purchased the 6-12 months size and it fit her perfectly. We had a great time trick or treating in it this Halloween as curious George, the man in the yellow hat, and professor wiseman. The only issue is that the Velcro around the legs and bottom did not stay together and left some scratch marks on her legs.

It was a good costume. It fit well on my 6 month old son. The only problem I had was keeping the Velcro to stay together. When he was crawling around it kept coming undone. He only wore it for a short time though so it worked out ok.
