Odd as it may sound I bought this item (and one similar) as a means of getting myself and what I wish to take with me from room to room and one floor to the other after surgery and while mobilising on crutches. I needed both hands free to use the crutches/stair handrails and while living alone this seemed worth exploring. Once fully back on my feet I shall still use these for doing daily living tasks which free my hands. A moment of inspiration and for one non-apron wearing lay all the practicality, and none of the chintz, of what my nan and her generation used for decades.Retro I may be but brightly patterned textiles belong on curtain poles, cushions or long skirts!
