I’ve had great success with the Victor M205-9 Easy Set Snap Rat Traps. In a short time, we’ve eliminated 4 rats outdoors. The traps are very sensitive, which I consider a major plus—it ensures they trigger quickly and cleanly.I’ve found the best baiting method is to put a few small drops of peanut butter in the little bait cup near the base of the pedal. This encourages the rat to step directly on the trigger, resulting in a swift and humane kill.The tension is high, which may seem intense at first, but it’s exactly what you want for an instant result. I did have a couple traps trigger without catching anything early on, but since adjusting the bait amount (less is more), they’ve worked flawlessly.I haven't had these for long, but I could see the staples coming out over time, which hold the spring and kill bar. If you want broken fingers, get some of these. The batch of 9 that I purchased were extremely difficult to set and I had to modify them with a file and a pair of pliers to get them to work at all. This company is not paying attention to their product and obviously don't give a crap if they work or if they cause injury to their customers. I have used this brand of rat trap for many years. The bate plate used to be made of metal and they worked great, The newer ones with plastic bate plates are junk and have caused me a lot of very sore fingers trying to get them to set. The latch will not hold on to the bate plate as it is too slippery.

Works great, we had a major Rat infestation as we have a field next to our house, we were able to eliminate 8 rats in a single week, using only two of these, and have not had any trouble with rats since.

Works as well as the original.I had to put 1" long staples through the bottom with the sharp end sticking up through the trap to keep the rats from escaping once they were caught

Very effective for rats in the back yard. I do a lot of grilling out and I notice rats in the yard when I'm done using my grill. They can smell my cooking, and they have to investigate.

Took out 3 rats within the first couple hours of setting, and a few more later. Traps are easy to set and extremely effective, no traps false triggered if they went off it was with a rat inside.
