The original Google remote I had started bugging out and it didn't have anything to do with the battery. So I'm very happy I could order a replacement that wasn't too expensive. This worked great and was easy to pair with my Google Chromecast tc.

The remote that came with the Chromecast TV lasted about a year. I had to replace it back in May. That replace lasted about 6 weeks and I just replaced it this week. The new unit lasted about 2 hours🙄. I'll return it and just use the app on my phone.

Bought this remote to replace the one that comes stock with my google TV after a roommate broke it. There have been a few mishaps as far as getting the buttons to respond to the TV initially, but after a tiny bit of finagling I believe it may have been due to the batteries I was using! The plastic feels different from the original remote, not as matte but more rigid, which ultimately isn't the end of the world to me. No notable size differences or response time when pressing buttons. Overall a great purchase!

The new controller I got really did assist me in establishing a connection with my GCCTV. However, I later discovered that the problem I was experiencing with my old remote was actually something very simple that I could have easily fixed. This meant that I didn't even need to purchase this new remote after all. But I guess that is just part of life; you learn from your experiences, and sometimes you make mistakes along the way.Now, while the remote functions perfectly well overall, I have noticed a strange little quirk. For some reason, I find that I need to press the UP button a little harder than I expect for it to register that I am trying to use it. It’s quite odd since I have not even had this remote for a full month yet, and already that UP button seems to be acting up a bit. I really don’t understand why this is happening, but it is a little frustrating.On the bright side, all the other functions of the remote work just as they are supposed to. I have the 4K version of the GCCTV, and I was able to connect it without running into any issues at all. Overall, I feel that this remote is definitely a worthwhile investment, especially if you are in need of a replacement for your old one.

Works as advertised and good price. Paired with chromecast and worked right away.

Only problem I had was the directions are so tiny that I had to take a photo of them and enlarge it on my phone to read how to program it.

Edit : these remotes are not authentic from Google.After mine died, I opened it up and compared the circuit board to my original remote which came with my chromecast, direct from Google. Completely different circuit board, and the main IC (chip) in this remote has had the part number removed with a laser engraver. Typical sketchy clone device. The circuit is completely different topology from the original, this knock off uses a single universal remote IC (my guess), where as the Google remote uses a more discrete topology with different chips for the IR and the Bluetooth, etc.Mine stopped working within 3 months of normal use. Tried new batteries of course, tried “forgetting the device and re-pairing” in the chromecast settings. Can’t get any functionality out of the remote anymore.
