Perfect!
Beautiful condition! The books themselves seem new and unread (no damage, no marks). The box was damaged but I don't keep that so no worries there. 100% worth the money! I sold my original copies years ago and have wanted them back. It took forever to find the original covers. THANK YOU!!!

An overall great purchase - one small flaw
About a year ago, I bought a hardcover copy of this series, The Heroes of Olympus, so I would be able to easily reread favorite parts of the books and loan them to friends. This being one of my favorite series, I wanted to buy my own copy of the books that would last me a long time. I had never bought books off Amazon, so I was naturally a bit worried, but when my order came in the mail I knew I had made the right decision. This book series was a great purchase because of its reasonable price, durable hardcovers, and beautiful cover art.To elaborate, these books were extremely well-priced, especially in comparison to the Barnes and Noble version of the exact same product. While these books were $57.98 off Amazon, Barnes and Noble sells them for $99.95, making this purchase on Amazon almost 50% cheaper than at Barnes and Noble. Likewise, when researching other sites from which to buy the series, I found that Amazon remained the cheapest; for example, Book Depository sells the books for $81.64. Nevertheless, in terms of these books, cheaper price certainly didn't entail cheaper quality. The books are hardcover editions and after the year that I’ve had them (filled with travel and many rereads), they are still in great condition due to long-term durability. Additionally, the beautiful cover art for these books are also immense positives; as a reader and artist, this product brought the stories to life in a perfect balance of pictures and words. The books are fantastic aesthetic additions to my bookshelf. However, with all of these positive aspects in mind, I did notice a flaw in one of the five books; some of the pages had ugly, cut, raw edges. I was immediately concerned and checked the other books for the same issue. Fortunately, the problem only occurred in one book and although I was considerably upset, I ultimately decided that I could make my peace with this relatively minor product flaw. Overall, this was without a doubt an excellent, unregrettable purchase; receiving these reasonably priced, beautiful, great quality books would surely make any reader very happy.

I mean- it’s Percy Jackson
Book wise:Overall the stories are a fantastic read for new and old beginners (especially with the Percy Jackson TV show coming out) all the books feature spectacular story telling and keep you intrigued. Out of personal preference the last and final book in this set wasn’t as mind-blowing compared to the last three. But it does feature the satisfying ending and focuses in depth in more characters that most authors would skip. And Riordan is able to blend reality, fantasy, and action into his writing perfectly. He was truly able to expand and adapt his writing with the modern times and give more stories to kids and teenagers around the world.Actual box it comes in:Really sturdy with beautiful artwork that definitely draws the eye when it’s on a bookshelf. It’s heavy though so beware if you have a week bookcase and sometimes when you go to place a book in, it opens and you accidentally bend a few pages but just be careful!

A fabulous series no matter the reader
Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Nico plus a slew of new heroes appear in this series. While the Titans were defeated in the first series the war is not over Gaea is stirring, and the Gods of Olympus are MIA. This series follows the Prophecy of the Seven revealed by Rachel Dare in the final book of the Olympians. The Greeks realize they are no longer alone in their service to the Gods, New Rome is introduced and together the Roman and Greek demigods need to work together to kill the giants and prevent Gaea from fully awakening. While many of the original Olympian 12 make an appearance the reader will be exposed to new monsters, heroes, and minor Gods. Riordan does a great job of keeping the reader entertained, and wanting more.I picked up Percy Jackson and the Olympians box set to see if my nephews and sons would be able to read it in the future. I like to scan through the books to see if they would be sufficiently entertaining, without a high exposure to sex or excessive gore. It makes me sound like a helicopter Mom/Aunt but I know my brother struggled to find book series that were challenging and entertaining and ended up reading a lot of comic books. I think these are a great version of YA for both male and female readers. The characters are strong, make hard decisions, and learn about sacrifice while independent. The struggles they face ( while not realistically relate able they draw similarities to issues teens might face in day to day life. Riordan encourages bravery, wisdom, and teamwork to help conquer seemingly impossible tasks)At 29 I am looking forward to exploring 'The Trials of Apollo.'

Not as pictured. No slip box. Not old covers.
Not a boxed set. Not the old covers. Not the photo in the description for the soft cover books. I specifically bought from this seller for the box and the old covers. I am disappointed and took off a star. The books are cellophaned together and are in perfect shape though.
