Only one gripe about this cool mouse
This pen mouse is super cool. I bought it because I was experiencing wrist pain from using my regular mouse. The ergonomic design is great. I have only been using it for a couple of hours and I already feel the difference in my wrist. It did take some adjustment to get used to using it, and also some adjustments in my mouse settings (I had to change the over all pointer speed and double-click speed to be a touch slower). My only gripe is how flimsy the holder is. I've knocked the whole thing off my desk twice (I'll get used to that, i think... It comes from reaching for a mouse that doesn't stick up in the air, lol). I wish the holder had a more grippy bottom, or more weight to it. It's super cheap and light (of course, at the price of this pen mouse, what did I really expect? haha).Anyway, that's my only gripe, otherwise it would be five stars.

Works GREAT
Bought this exact same model a few years back and barely used it. Went to use it a few days ago and it would not stay on no matter what I did. Trashed that one and bought a new one and this one works fine. Will just have to wait and see about the longevity...

Failed twice.
Difficult to initially set up: no on/off position indication on switch. No diagram to show which way to insert battery. Had to guess. Guessing did not help when initially not working.First one I ordered only worked for a few minutes. Did not work the next day.Button positions felt uncomfortable/unnatural. Seems like the left-click button (top front) was too high. I felt I had to bend my finger way back to use the scroll wheel - did not feel natural. The right-click button (left side) did not feel comfortable to press.Second one I ordered worked for a whole day. Easier set up. I just plugged in the USB adapter, started working. I got a little more comfortable using the buttons. But on the second day I used it, did not work. Was getting very warm. Put in new battery, worked for a few minutes, but got warm again. My guess is that something inside was shorting out the battery.I might have liked it had I used it for a couple of days. But it did not last that long.I do not recommend getting this.

possibly too soon to tell
NB the documentation does not say this, but the pen actually works better if you use it in the stand. The device is very light. It feels flimsy, but maybe the light weigh is good as it may be easier on the handI was interested in this, because the previous mouse I was using was irritating the arthritis in my right thumb. I am hoping this will be better, but it might be too soon to tell. In any case, it's generally better to switch up hand positions to relieve repetitive use injuries. It did not come with a battery. The battery cover was hard to remove. I had a friction sheet that I use for opening jars. That helped me open the battery cover. The battery was hard to get in, but eventually I did.At first the laptop did not recognize the clicks on this mouse -- but then it seemed to figure it out. Maybe there's a learning curve -- not sure.Otherwise it seems to work.I'll have to get back to this review after I see whether it helps my hand feel betterOne disadvantage is that I use the mouse on a pull out drawer, below the surface of my workstation. This device is too tall to stay on the drawer when I close it.-----------------I've been using it for 2 days now. I've knocked it on the floor at least 20 times during that time. So far, it's still working, but I wonder how long it can survive like this. A lot of times I accidentally knock it on the floor when I'm trying to reach for it. Other times, it's because I forget it's there. It's very unstable.

Go ahead and skip this if you're looking for quality
I purchased this after seeing an embroidery digitizer use it in a video online. One of the well-known digitizing software companies even recommends it on its site. While the reviews online seem to vary, I figured at this price it was worth a shot.It arrived quickly. The packaging is okay, though if it had been included in a box with something heavy, I would have concerns about it being protected well enough. The instructions it came with were insufficient at best. They basically say to insert a battery, plug in the dongle to your computer, and the pen will automatically connect as it was paired at the factory. There are no markings on the inside of the pen or in the instructions to tell you which direction to insert the battery.Despite our technical knowledge, neither my husband nor I were able to get this pen to connect to any computer in our household. The wireless mouse I purchased the same day worked just fine though, so that leads me to believe it was a problem with the pen.Holding the pen felt unnatural to me. It's oddly shaped, probably for ergonomics, but it fails in this way.Perhaps others have had better luck, but this is going back and I'll have to do further research on a digital pen.
