The Eightwood Two Way Radio Antenna is a 6-inch, VHF/UHF dual-band antenna designed for handheld ham radios. With a frequency range of 136-174MHz and 400-470MHz, it features an SMA female connector and is compatible with various models, including BaoFeng and Yaesu. This lightweight and flexible antenna enhances communication range, making it ideal for on-the-go use.

These beat every factory rubber duck antenna hands down.
I have several HTs and most take the female SMA threaded connector. It seems factory rubber duck antennas die young, these out of the box work better than any factory antenna no doubt... So they are replacements, but way better. They test out well with VNA and SWR/Watt meter checks. SWR was quite good compared to all my old rubber ducks. And yeah, old I have. One of my antennas is at least 30 years old. It is no longer king of the hill. This replacement is.Range is very good and dollar for dollar, there is more bang for your buck with these!

Easy to screw on and off antenna
Seems to work fine have not checked the farrs yet or the distance. A good dual band antenna for walkie talkies .

Better than many others
I have tested dozens of dual band “duckie” antennas on multiple radios and have found these to be above most others. The build quality is excellent and performance has been beyond my expectations. They have even worked better than some of the 15-16” “high gain” antennas. An added bonus is the very flexible upper radiator which takes a lot of stress off of the SMA connector.

Frequency response is not as advertized
Two of the 6 antennas arrived. One had a connector that my test cables did not want to plug into. The other measured below a SWR of 3 from about 132-144MHz. That's pretty different from the specified 136-174MHz/400-470MHz. Quite frankly, the stock antenna works better at the 156MHz frequency where I need to use these. SWR on these was over 5 at that frequency. That's pretty close to dead center of the frequency range that these are said to be good for. These will get returned. They LOOK nice, they just don't work well.

Works great.
Items work great for my replacement

SWR is just meh on GMRS
I'm on a quest for an inexpensive GMRS antenna because my kids keep leaving their radios laying around and the dogs keep chewing them up. I bought 7 nagoya na-701g a year ago and I have 3 left. I'm not interested in replacing them again at $20 each.I bought them for GMRS. They're acceptable, but just barely. I bought a 2 pack. One was 1.7, the other was just over 2.

Good fit and reception on GMRS
This improved the range of my Baofeng economy GMRS radios enough that we can talk anywhere on our forested acreage
