Great idea that works great for my Igloo cooler
First, a few disclosures: I bought this with my own money and I am not an AI chatbot (or a summary cobbled together from reviews by an AI scraper). I am saddened that Amazon is plagued by reviews that are incentivized or not even written by actual humans, let alone people who have used the product. I am just a regular Joe who was trying to solve a problem and took a chance on a product that turned out to exceed my expectations and I wanted to share that. The problem I was trying to solve was with a recently purchased Igloo water jug. If you grew up in the 80s or 90s, you know just what I'm talking about: the red plastic, squattish cylindrical jug with the stopper and carrying handle you could get for a song. Turns out you still can--it cost me about $7 at Wally World, a fraction of the price of one of those trendy metal flasks. Those are easy to dent, hard to clean, and expensive. The Igloo, on the other hand, is easy to fill, easy to clean, and holds enough water to last a whole day. In short, I love it, but it has one drawback. Since it's relatively thin plastic, it doesn't insulate too well and the water doesn't stay cold. I thought I solved this by filling it up with ice from my icemaker before putting in the water. It did, but since my icemaker doesn't have a filter, it imparted a taste to the water that I found--distasteful. I figured that if I could make ice from the great tasting water from my sink, I could make this sticking point go away. That's when where this silicone ice tray comes in. I started looking on Amazon and found lots of ice trays, but I didn't want to have to fill several of these each night to have enough ice the next day for a full jug of water. In short, a traditional ice tray was going to be too much work. (First world problems, I know.) Then I happened to run across this ice tray, which makes just one giant 6-lb block. This seemed like just the trick! I measured my Igloo and compared it to the dimensions of the tray in the Amazon image, and it looked like the ice would just barely fit. But since I've found dimensions on Amazon to often be inexact at best, it still felt like a risk. I gambled and ordered it, and I was rewarded. As you can see in my images, it does indeed just barely fit. That's exactly what I wanted. I'm in my office now with the jug, which I filled over six hours ago, and the ice block is still mostly intact and the water is still ice cold. Try that with a Hydro Flask. So that's the specific purpose for which I ordered this ice tray, although I'm also looking forward to using it with my Titan Deep Freeze zipperless cooler. Since it comes as a pair of trays, that should equal over one small ice bag. These are pretty easy to fill--just be careful when transporting to the freezer, because it can easily slosh around and spill. I recommend leaving at least an inch at the top, which still produces a plenty big ice block. Fill it at night and it's solid in the morning. I was a little worried it would be hard to remove the frozen block, but I've found it to be supremely easy. The silicone is really flexible, so you can easily work it back and forth and side to side until it works free. I do recommend lifting it out by hand once it's free, because you could do some damage trying to dump this into another vessel. To sum up, this simple but nifty ice tray has exceeded my expectations and I'm unreasonably happy about purchasing it.

Ice block molds
This item has worked great! We bought them to line the bottom of our cooler for a 10hr car drive. They kept our food cold the entire trip! The ice pops out of the rubber mold very easily. We made multiple ice blocks to line our cooler! The rubber molds also make it easy to store when not in use!

Does produce a solid block of ice
The molds does produce a solid block of ice. The exact dimension of the mold is 8.125x4.125x2.5 inches at the bottom and 8.375x4.4375x2.5 inches at the top. As you can tell, the block ice is not an exact rectangle. The size gradually increase from top to bottom. Also, I did not take into account that water does not freeze evenly in a silicon mold. As the water freezes at the edges, it forces the center to rise like a mountain. Thus, the ice cube will have large hump in the middle. I imagine I will get many freezes out the molds. The ice block did not have any noticeable silicon residue on them when extracted from the mold. I plan to use one ice block in a 16qt lunch cooler. There is plenty of space after adding the ice block for a couple of 16.9oz drinks, a couple of sandwiches, a small container of salad, fruit cups, and chocolate candy bars. I wish the mold produced a perfectly rectangle block of ice but I understand the law thermodynamic blaa blaa blaa. I am okay with the purchase but probably will not buy again.
