Great for Cloud Gaming/Headless GPU Server
If you have a headless machine that you're using for gaming, or other GPU intensive tasks, but don't want to actually hook up a monitor this is the perfect solution. They're small, but they're heavier than they look so build quality seems good. Great price, works perfect for the scenario described above, and the picture looks great.I run Linux on my primary rig, but still need to use "certain design apps that don't work on Linux" from time to time. Using Sunshine + Moonlight (I'm sure it'd work great for Parsec sans-VDD as well), with one of these connected to my fileserver, I'm able to login without a physical monitor connected and get design work done, no lag or ghosting whatsoever.

Virtual 4K monitor works as described
Great for headless computers. The computer thinks a 4k monitor is plugged in. This is hndy for remote control apps such as screen connect or TeamViewer, and some computers with AMD CPUs won't display in these applications without a monitor plugged in.

Ideal for VNC and Web Servers
Microsoft forced me into a PC upgrade because of the end of service coming for Windows 10. It is always so hard to get a new PC setup with all the old software that I have become used to, and if one forgets to unregister a program on the old system, well, it could mean buying a license all over again. The best alternative is to keep the old PC available until the new one is set up. Enter dummy HDMI plugs. The old PC is hidden under my desk with only a LAN connection and power. When I need it, I use my smartphone to power it up and VNC into it. After I settle the new PC, the old one will become a Ubuntu web server, and the dummy HDMI plug will continue to be in service. It plugged right in and worked like a charm.

Works great for cold starts on my Ubuntu headless build
These worked great! They make my headless Ubuntu server's video card work without having to plug in a monitor first.

Fixed my remote problems when no monitor was connected.
Did exactly what I needed it to do. I have some mini-pcs running Windows that don't have a monitor connected. I remote into them but there are always display issues unless a monitor is also connected. Plugging one of these in solves the problem and everything works great.

Work fine
Works. It is ridiculous that one needs a fake HDMI connection. I actually needed two because I run two headless PCs, one for Frigate and one for a server.
