Works great, I have used this many times and am still using the original tip.

The filament heats up quickly. This also can be used for any task where pinpoint heating is needed, as long as it is applied delicately to preserve the heating element.

I used this "Chispee Thread Burner II with one Touch for Finishing Bead Weaving, Fast Melting Wax, Carved Leather, & Melting Thread Projects (1Pc Thread Burning+6Pcs Tips)" five times,for short periods and it no longer works. The on/off switch is very poorly made and installed and it didn't turn off completely,which drained batteries quickly,but worse, the switch stopped working. The switch is faulty and that takes away from the handiness it had to burn off threads. It is a terrible value when you only get to use it five times before it stops working.

It was easy to put in the batteries and use right out of the box. Simple instructions were provided. I had no idea how much I needed this sewing tool in my life until I purchased it. It's great for finishing off ends, sealing ribbon, elastic, and other edges that are prone to fraying. I used to use fray check liquid when needed, but this is my new go-to instead. It's easy to use, and I am super happy to have this on hand!

Very good overall. The only concern I have is that the end cap is plastic threads and easily cross threads into the aluminum barrel. I can see this being a problem, even when being careful to thread the cap, as the cap threads seem to be the weakest point and will likely wear out after a few battery changes. Otherwise, it works as expected and seems to be well-built.

I use for a lot of different reasons and uses. Takes a AA battery and has replacement tops which is really nice, less to store than when you buy multiple units. Recommend

Great product! Purchased for my leather hand sewing projects. Works well for burning waxed thread ends. No more burning fingers using a lighter. Definitely would recommend.

Believe it or not, we used this to mark snakes during a field wildlife study. The snakes were not especially happy about it but we needed to identify snake population recapture and migration.
