Very bright
As long as you have the right sized bag, this is a good item to have for night cycling. Really stands out.

Excellent product.
Salzmann 3M Reflective Backpack Cover: This product is excellent. I purchased the high visibility yellow color with the 3M reflective material. The design, construction, and price are all well thought out and executed. I like the strap configuration. The cover fits well, and is waterproof. It well may be the best cover out there. Thanks.

Will it fit?
I don’t normally write reviews for products I’ve gotten from Amazon but this one I felt I needed to to help people out as one thing I didn’t find in the description is the size, volume wise. Backpacks are sized in volume, for some reason rain covers are not. I bought XL with the intention of returning it if it didn’t fit my bag. I have an Osprey farpoint 55. This is a 40L bag with a removable 15L day pack. This item fits the 40L perfectly. It also fit but tighter with the 15L day pack attached with a few items in it. One caveat is that this bag is not shaped like those tall above your head backpacking bags. With the day pack on it sticks backwards outwards away from your back. It still fit enough to cover the top and the whole of the back but a little less on the bottom. This is rectified by the elastic straps with clips which will still allow rain to run off the bottom without hitting the bottom of the bag. So if your bag is 40-50L I think you should be fine. But I would definitely try it on a 60L and just return it if it doesn’t fit as the build quality and features for the price is excellent. I am going to Japan, Korea, and Thailand in November-March ish and appreciate the hi viz for any dark rainy days if I’m having to walk roadside

Makes me feel safer riding at night than I do during the day
I've been commuting by bike for a very long time, and I've never owned a product that made me feel safer at night than this. Cars and trucks have suddenly decided to start changing lanes to avoid me. The Scotchlite is extremely effective and impossible for drivers with operating headlights to ignore. As a waterproof cover it does a pretty decent job. I wish it had a way to clip at the top of your pack or secure around the shoulder straps, but it works ok as it is.The Scotchlite, while extremely effective as a reflective material, is not very durable. Placing your pack on pavement will inevitably scrape it up and put tiny holes in it very quickly, unfortunately. The elastic straps that attach it to your pack work, but have been folded over at the sewed ends in the wrong direction - the buckles will easily slide off as they work their way toward the end of the strap. If the fold was in the opposite direction it would catch the sharp edge in the buckle and not be a problem. I solved this by just flipping the buckles over, but this really shouldn't be necessary. In summary: a fantastic product that is potentially lifesaving, but could be improved with some minor tweaks.
