The Liturgical Organist, Vol 2: Easy Compositions -- Preludes/Interludes/Postludes for Pipe or Reed Organ with Hammond Registrations

Easy/Optional Pedaling.
Great collection of hundreds of short pieces by famous and obscure baroque and classic composers. Most pedaling is easy and/or optional. I am a pianist who happens to also play organ, so the easy pedaling is nice! Many are keyboard only. Length from 8 measures to 2 pages, and arranged by key. The only down side (minor issue) is that there are no titles, just composers listed. Therefore, I list the piece as "Untitled" in the church bulletin. There are a lot of very usable pieces for Preludes, Offertories, and Postludes. This is one of my 3 or 4 "Go To" books that gets used a lot.

Organists need spiral bindings
As I have already corresponded with you on this subject, I will just reiterate that when you publish music for organists, especially liturgical organists, you really need to make sure bound spines are not used as it is extremely impossible to keep the book open on the organ. Spiral bindings are the only thing that works. I ordered these threebooks and spent 3.5 hours plus $15.00 on loose leaf binders and page protectors, taking these three books apart andputting them into the loose leaf binders. That makes your product a lot more expensive for me, and I also do not havethe time to do this continuously as I have a large choir and am the church organist. I won't be purchasing furthermusic from you unless you show me on your site that it is in a spiral binder. The local music stores offer this, andeven if a few dollars more, it will be better for me to shop there. I hope you give this serious consideration as I canassure you no liturgical organist is going to like your bound bindings. The content of the three books is fine.

making it easy to find what I need
This is my third book in the set, so I knew what to expect. I use these short selections in combination with hymns for preludes and postludes. The book's contents are arranged by musical key, making it easy to find what I need. I had the book spiral bound by my local office supply store, well worth the few dollars extra. Otherwise the book could not be made to lie flat without breaking its spine.

postludes and offertories and I like the way they are all organized according to the ...
As a beginning church organist, this book was very helpful in supplying me with short music pieces for preludes, postludes and offertories and I like the way they are all organized according to the keys in which they are played. The music is fairly easy for an experienced pianist to adapt to the organ.

All of these books are an excellent purchase for any church organist/keyboard-player. The selections have an expected "church" sound, and are easy to play. This is a great value for your money.

Go-to when pressed for time
Well-thumbed, go-to book for this moonlighter organist. Contains not just pieces arranged by length and key, but a bunch of goodies at the back including modulations and such.My only complaint (and my congregants probably agree) is that the pieces are somewhat homogenous, lots of chromatics and dramatics. Right leg gets tired on and off the expression pedal so often. Otherwise, a great tool for the workaday player.
