Hi we’re Diversity and this is Dance. Fitness. Fusion. We’ve taken influences from the many styles of street dance we’ve learned along the way and applied them to create the ultimate Diversity DVD! This double-disc DVD contains two different programmes. The first focuses on fitness with a dance inspired workout designed to get you fit the Diversity way. You can have fun with us, get an insight into different styles of street dance, learn how we put our routines together and get fit all at the same time! The second programme gives you something special, a direct link into the world of Diversity. An exclusive routine from our tour which we’re gonna break down just for you and show you how it's put together step by step. A Diversity masterclass in your own living room!So put on your dancing shoes and step straight into our world.

Challenging but so fun!
The only other dance DVD I have ever tried to follow was dance the S Club Way when I was 13 and I found it hard to follow mainly because I was trying to do everything the opposite way around because they face you and because the choreographers didn't explain very well. Diversity's is so much easier to follow. There are two disks; disk one - the workout and disk two - the tour routine.Disk one is brilliant. Ashley, Warren and Ian take you through everything. Its the same format; they are still facing you but the camera shots and explanations make so much sense and what looks extremely difficult even on the Easy mode is simple once its broken down for you. Even my mum can do it and we've had a laugh learning the routines. It's broken up into sections which you learn and then right at the end you can put all the sections together to make one epic fitness routine. My favourites are 'Fast and Slow' and 'Funky Fusion'. Don't expect to jump straight into the workout because you need to learn the routine first at your own pace, but once you've got it down the workouts are nackering but so fun. And you actually remember it the next time you come back so you can do a quick refresher tutorial if need be and jump straight back into it.Being a bit amateur I've only tried the Easy routines so far but once you have learned and are confident with Easy, the Hard routines combine what you've already learnt with new moves, which is clever because you can progress upwards at your own pace. The Diversity routine on the second disk is really fun. Its cool to try out their moves in my living room. and theres no pressure so you just learn it at your pace.Hats off to these guys, they really thought this one through. If you want to have a lot of fun, be challenged and work out then I would recommend this DVD. Its difficult but so rewarding once you can do it.

Challenging but fantastic!
I bought this DVD because I love Diversity and dancing. It looks impossible when you first begin the routines (even the warm up and cool down appear difficult) but it was surprising how much easier it was the second time I tried it. You may need to use the rewind button a lot if the moves get complicated but he does point that out. The moves are well explained and because there are always three people performing the steps if one doesn't make it clear maybe looking at the others may help. The most complicated bit is learning to do all the moves the opposite way to the dancers on screen. It's hard at first but you get used to it after a few tries. The most important thing is to keep trying - once you get the routines it feels great going through them all.I would reccomend that anyone buying this DVD should a) be willing to learn the routines before working-out (this can take a while) and b) focus on one routine at a time so you don't get confused. Also I now think "Funky Fusion" is actually more difficult than the other two work-outs so I suggest starting with "Fast and Slow" instead. There may be only three work-outs but there are two levels so it seems like six and the routines themselves don't get boring.Haven't tried the second DVD yet - I'm saving it until I've completed the first so I can't say what that's like but I love the first one. Even if you don't get a work-out the Diversity boys aren't bad to look at either ;D

Second disc is better
As an experienced dancer, I do like a challenge. However, there is a difference between something being 'challenging' and it just not being taught very well.In my opinion, the first disc is unengaging and unhelpful. The warm-up is very slow, repetitive and basic. But then you are suddenly thrown into a very fast-paced and technical routine. There's no build up. Also, the 'work-out' movements are taught all in one go, without music. Dance lessons are always successful when you get the chance to go over small sections, and even better when you can try each section with the music. This does not happen. I would most certainly NOT recommend this for beginners either! The 'basic' routine is actually very technical, and the 'advanced' routine is just the same routine again, but with a few movements changed. To me, that's not two routines...that's just one routine with differentiation. The second disc is where Diversity Dance Fitness Fusion redeems itself. The teaching here is much better. Ashley explains each movement very clearly, which means that you know exactly which part of the body you ought to be working and how to make the movement look good. The routine is also broken down into sections, which really helps. You get to see a performance of the routine so you know what it ought to look like. You also get to perform the routine section by section slowly, as well as with the music. This is really helpful because it helps you to remember the movements. Also, because you get to try each section with the music, it makes it much more interesting, and you feel like you're achieving progress.Overall, I rate this DVD with 3 stars. I don't think I'll be using disc 1 again, but I am using disc 2 every day. I am determined to perfect that routine!

More Dance than Fitness but love it anyway
Before I start, let me say that I really respect Diversity and have seen them on many of their tours. I would watch this DVD to just be impressed by thier skills and musicality, let alone their knowledge and skills int eh various jenres of dance.Having said that I loved attempting some of the moves, but I did find a lot of them out of my skillset as a 40+ year old slightly arthritic man.Definitely one for the training of dance moves, and although Ashley and the boys made a fine go at the exercise element of the DVD it is really more aimed at the dance.
