I‘ve used this lead for a week only but it seems to be absolutely ok. It looks nice, the material of the body looks and feels of good quality. So do the cord and the band. It is quick to retract. The lock works fine.I find the handle a bit big though. My previous one had a smaller one so I used to be able to put it in my pocket. For this 3 times lower price that is the only downside of this leash.I can’t predict if this one will last long or not.

This is the 2nd one of these leads that I've had, it is very comfortable to hold, great value for money and easy to use. Very good quality

Both leads I have purchased have failed at around 12 months old. I cannot find details on how to get a replacement or guarantee details. So I won't buy another. If they are guaranteed for 3 years, details on refunds or replacements should be very clear to the buyer.

The locking mechanism is difficult. It sometimes locks when trying to reel the dog back in. It sometimes unlocks by itself when the dog releases pressure. When waiting to cross a road is best to press the mechanism down to make sure it doesn't unlock when cars are passing.The retracting mechanism failed after 6-months use.

This is the third Marko extending lead that I have purchased. They feel robustly constructed but after about 6 months the the return springs on first two have gradually faded and eventually failed to retrieve the extended lead. The instructions imply that they are not water-proof which may be the reason for the failures to date: we have Springer Spaniels so often finds ourselves in watery environments and this can get wet!
