Quality and Value
I recently rescued a female maltipoo dog from the shelter. I realized she was smart and had purchased several Level 4 puzzles which she figured out in no time. OK, what now??? Then I saw these dog talking buttons on Amazon and decided to see if she could work them. WOW, in one day she was already pushing the buttons to tell me what she wanted. The buttons are easy to program. The level of the voice is just perfect. It appears that they are durable and they function as advertised. Great value for my money and my doggie and I will enjoy these for years.

AMAZING!!
They arrived just as pictured in the Amazon product listing. The package included stickers, a screwdriver for the battery area, the buttons, the foam mats to put the buttons in, instructions, and a step by step guide to button teaching.Upon receiving the buttons, 2 of them didn’t work. I emailed the company and they were fast with a response. Turns out the batteries just got loose during shipping and after taking them out and putting them back in, the 2 buttons work now.The buttons are loud as long as you aren’t whispering or low voiced when talking into them, they’re easy to set up and easy for my dog to press.

Good product needs design improvement
This works.Within three days of using the button my 8 month old catahoula got the concept of pushing the button when she wanted to go out. The only problem, on the fifth day the button was gone, I assume she took it out in the yard somewhere, I haven’t found it yet. She sees the button as a toy to be played with. Good product but the designers need to figure out a way to keep the button attached to its base otherwise you will be buying a lot of buttons.

So fun!! Free downloadable guide! 😻
Of course, we've seen so many YouTube videos of the pets who use these buttons, and we're enamored with the idea of our cats using them.I downloaded am iPhone app called "The Simple Clicker" free version, which, after a few sessions, I decided to purchase the Pro version of since it's only $1.99😃First, I "charged" the clicker, meaning that every time you click, you give the pet a treat so it learns to associate the sound with a treat.Next, I had to train our cats to become comfortable with stepping on the neoprene pads. The first step was placing treats on the mats for 2-3 sessions. It seems like our cats didn't like the texture of stepping on the mats.I think it's also worth noting that it's likely a very good idea to allow the mats to sit out for a few days--outside of the package -- so they can off-gas, (meaning release any volatile compounds that give it that weird odor. in case you’re wondering, I did look it up, and neoprene is not likely to be toxic to humans, so I assume it is also not toxic to pets. However, I figure if I can smell that smell, then it’s probably offensive to most pets as well. Granted, I am very sensitive to odors, but still, I am sure that any animal is even more sensitive to odors than I am).The next step will be getting the cats to put their paws on the button. I really do not know how I am going to do that, and I have not gotten to that part yet. One other thing to note is that training is recommended to be done before regularly scheduled meals occur, that “treats“ should not comprise more than 10% of an animal diet yet should still be within Reasonable dietary nutritious guidelines, and that crunchy treats are a great opportunity to promote the animals dental health. And I haven’t done research on this part yet, but I am sure there are published recommendations for ingredients and macros for treats according to the type of animal you have.Anyway, I seem to be our pets favorite animal for the moment ha ha ha because I’m the one giving them so many treats! I also found that, depending on I’m not sure what 😆 sometimes, I can use their regular kibble as they’re reinforcement with the Clicker, seems not only much more economical but also very likely more nutritious as well as well yeah more nutritious but I have found that both cats, at different times, have found the treats I mean they’re they’re regular kibble to be motivating at sometimes and not motivating at other times. As you can see from the picture, Billie (eating) found their regular kibble to be motivating during this session, but Ella (on the right) didn’t. During the next session, they reversed! 😆By the way, fluent pet does give you a link to download their free training guide as well as resources to join the quote fluent pet community once you purchase the item and give them your email. I mean I’m sure the email is for marketing but, so what, right? 😄So, if I am successful in getting our cats to press the buttons, then we will expand two more tiles. We I am having so much fun with this! And it’s providing great bonding time with the cats, they are clearly enjoying it, L and funny thing is that my search of none suggest making the First button be a treat button. However, the fluent pet res pet to think that the only purpose for pushing a button is getting food treats. So that makes me question whether I should have charged the clicker with food at all. But anyway, here we are, so I don’t know… At any rate, the cats and I are having fun!I highly recommend this as well as the app I mentioned! I can’t wait to make more progress!

Very expensive and not totally reliable
I’m so glad I only purchased the 2-pack of these buttons. I’ve seen the creators videos of her dog using buttons and was totally influenced to buy “her” buttons. However, these are insanely expensive compared to other options AND they’re somewhat unreliable. Let me de-influence you.We currently have “outside” and “treat” as the words because I felt that would be the best place to start since we can immediately model the words once pressed and my dog is not food motivated so be wouldn’t go crazy with the “treat” button.Even when I sit on the floor and press the “treat” button, probably 20% of the time it does not work. Now I say *I* pressed it because this is not a case of the dog not applying enough pressure, it’s me repeatedly pressing it using the same pressure but sometimes it doesn’t work. It’s also very quiet. I am a relatively small woman, and if I walk by and press a button with my toe, the minuscule amount of extra force makes the button super quiet because the speaker is in the bottom. Do they have buttons now where the speaker is on top, or even connected to a “home base” large speaker? Yes. Do they cost even more than these already overpriced buttons? Also yes.Could I have bought a cheaper set? For sure. Was I influenced by the videos that use these buttons and by the fact that the hextiles are so aesthetic? Sadly, yes.Overall somewhat glad my dog hasn’t taken to using them because now I don’t have to spend hundreds on these little buttons. Showing my dog, 15lbs, for scale next to the buttons. (I used my label maker to add the stickers, those are not the stickers that came with the pack)

Game-changer for my kid and my dog
My child loved taking the lead with the Junior Teacher Science Kit, and the best part was watching them proudly “teach” our dog to use the buttons. In just days our pup was pressing “outside,” and now the two of them are learning together. Easy setup, sturdy pieces, and honestly the most fun (and educational) thing we’ve brought into the house this year!
