so I purchased Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Play Set and Marvel Super Heroes Video Game Starter Pack
Disney InfinityI purchased Groot for my Wife. (And Later Rocket) We were curious on how the game actually played, so I purchased Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Play Set and Marvel Super Heroes Video Game Starter Pack. The Starter Pack specifically for the PS3 disk. Knowing I could use the pad for the PS4 later with a digital download purchase.Let me first say that the figures are great. They have excellent detail and excellent paint jobs. (Some toy-like things you get have bad paint where they aren't painted on the lines, etc.)The naming of everything is confusing. I wished Disney would have thought through what to call everything before releasing, but so be it.The game is really laggy on PS3. Poor game design? Old Console? Bit of Both? Either way the controls are horrible.I downloaded the PC game and entered the codes. Much smoother, better graphics, and great conrols. Lots of annoying 'buy this' 'buy that' added to it, but that's what you get with a Free to Play mentallity.Verticle spitscreen multiplayer? Who came up with that idea? Not having an option to split screen horizontally, or even doing splitscreen like Resident Evil 5 does, with separate screens top and bottom.Cross-Platform Character Progress? Hello? Did the same person that came up with the verticle splitscreen also decide not to save character progress on a Disney server so that no matter what platform we play on we can pick up where we left off? This is a big let down for me, probably why I haven't played more. I'd like to switch from PS3, to PS4, then PC and keep character progression. Basically we have 7 characters. I can't imagine wanting to buy the PS4 digital version or even for iPad now.Plenty of different game modes, which is cool.TL;DRFigures are cool, backend game mechanics kinda suck.

Five Stars
Perfect, bought for our daughter and she loves the Disney Infinity game, and all of the characters.

Nice looking figure but the price is a little too much $
Nice design, character has that Disney-style look to it. I just wished it wasn't so expensive for a non-articulate statue. These are cool to look at, and each character has that signature Disney-style. Note that if you want to play the Disney Infinity game, you have to buy (or already have) the Disney Infinity 2.0 Starter Pack Set (includes the actual Disney Infinity game disc and Infinity Base) AND if you want to play the Guardians of the Galaxy story, you'll also have to buy the GotG Play Set, which is another $45.So like I said in my review of the Disney Infinity 2.0 set - If you're a Marvel fan looking for collectable figurines that can somewhat double as stand alone toys or display pieces, spend away (like I explained above, it gets expensive). But if you're buying them to add content to the actual Disney Infinity game, don't expect much - it just adds another character into the same, "not as good, fun, or exciting as Lego" gameplay. I'm giving the figure 4 stars only because they look good.

This is a wonderful figurine! It has solid construction
This is a wonderful figurine! It has solid construction, nice detail, and a stylistic look that is somewhat cartoonish, but not excessively juvenile. I cannot attest to any of the digital content features as I purchased this purely for ornamentation, but for any Marvel / Guardians of the Galaxy / Groot fans, it's a great piece to have around.

Groot is cool...but back up your data or its gone
I am so mad right now. This was our ONE family-shared game. Four months. Tons of sparks. Tons of toy store purchases. Several maxed out characters and sidekicks. Lots of "rare" dropped items. I created a Disney Cloud account, under the false assumption that I was backing up data. The toddler ejected a disk during autosave and now my data is corrupt?!?! I have been online trouble shooting for hours and Disneys FAQ indicates that I will need to delete the save file and start over?!? Are you serious? Yes, we did a database rebuild etc etc etc. No, we didn't save to a USB drive (and we don't have a PS network account). So seriously? After several months and plenty of money...its all gone? Why did we make a Disney account? Why did we chose to backup certain toyboxes to the disney cloud (which appears to be inaccessible)? I have NEVER had this issue with any other PS3 or PS4 game. It's even more frustrating that it involves a game that is primarily played online, via servers...claiming to be "infinity", where you play for long stretches of time, with multiple characters, earning/gaining certain materials. Unacceptable. I am not deleting and starting over...I'm removing the file from my system, selling off pieces, and never coming back.My son will be devastated. He leveled up a couple favorite characters that he bought with his own money, and with limited screen time, he leveled them up and put thought into his skill tree. I guarantee he won't be interested in reinvesting the effort.I Played WOW for many years. GTA and other similar games. I NEVER had to delete and start over. I can't tell you how disappointed I am in Disney and disgusted with the amount of money we spent on this; a system whose FAQS suggest deleting and starting over.Rename: Disney Infinity: It's INFINITE unless someone accidentally presses Eject while it is autosaving and then you get the fun opportunity to restart six months of leveling! Yea!Groot is awesome. Fun to play with. No associated weapons. He's funny. No gun or sword, can't fly Just a fun character to play.I never realized we needed a usb flash drive plugged in at all times. Never had this problem with any other game. Ever (PS, PS2, PS3,PS4). Now im scared I need to be compulsively backing up and saving data. This needs to be addressed by Disney or PS and resolved. It's unacceptable.
