This item BLOCK 95% of the loud sound of my neighbor's dog's barking. (5 Star Rating for that alone)
My neighbor's dog barks very loudly, which causes me not to be able to concentrate of working and hurts my eardrums a lot. This item really works very well as it blocks about 95% of the horrible sound of the dog's barking. I can focus on working and my eardrums is fine by now.The device also fits my ears and head very well, and does not squeeze my ears or head. I feel about 96% to 98% comfortable wearing it for a long time (a few hours or more).

The gift of quiet for an autistic woman with Sensory Processing Disorder. (Me)
These will be going just about everywhere with me from now on, especially riding the bus, grocery shopping, mowing the law, waiting for the bus, everywhere that I need them. Such a gift of less noise! I'm autistic and have Sensory Processing Disorder too. This means the chaos of the world is loader, brighter, etc and it exhausts me. I needed to do something to cut down on some of the noise in life. These looked like they would do the trick. Got them today. Already I'm in love!!!They came in today, to the Amazon locker in Clifton, I took the bus down, walked over to the locker, picked them up and right there in the Amazon place I took them out of the box and put them one and turned off all the noise in the store. Just gone. I even did a little happy dance right there. The music was gone, the buz from the lights, all the computer fans, the everything, even the noise of cars and people outside. Gone! I walked back down to Kroger, went in picked up a few things and some salad from the salad bar and sat there and had my salad for dinner while waiting to catch the bus.I walked over to the bus stop and reveled in the relative silence. Traffic noise was muted to almost not there, loud cars and motor cycles went buy that normally even with my in the ear foam plugs would have had me putting my hands over my ears and cringing just went by. I could still hear them, but not enough to cause me pain. Even an ambulance which is normally a spike to the head was tolerable. Then the bus came. The bus ride home went much quicker than it usually does and I couldn't understand it until I thought about it some. Without ear protection it's a 45 minute battle to stay calm... to not ... I'm not even sure how to put it, but all the noise on the bus, battling it, even with all my vitamins and meds is just exhausting. The ride home wasn't, and so it went by quickly in near silence. These are advertised to be light enough and comfortable enough to wear all day long. I'd say yes. I've been wearing them for 4 hours and they aren't bothering me at all. Can I sleep in these?#ASD #autism #autismacceptance #actuallyautistic #sensoryprocessing #sensory #earprotection #hearingprotection #sensoryprocessingdisorder #spd

Tried on, but not fully tried out, yet - added to (updated) on March 13, 2019. See bottom.
I put these on in my den and tested them slightly by turning up the volume on my computer while I participated in some activities and by turning the volume back down to my usual level to see if I could still hear anything.I like that these do seem to block the sound well. I could still hear the noises at 40 on my computer's scale, but well muffled. The level 40 for those activities is usually tolerable, but higher than I like by about 10 for listening to understand voice. My low end was at 14, where I usually like the volume just to let me know that something is making a noise on my computer. I turn it up to 20 or 30 when I'm listening to a YouTube video or something like that.I bought these ear muffs to use with earplugs against my snow blower's noise, as the earplugs are adequate, but I'd still like that noise muffled even more. I have used just my earplugs on the shooting range and on the rare occasions when I go to the movies. Maybe I'll use both in those places from now on, now that I have these.I did not like the fit of these. These do not extend down from the headpiece as I thought they would. My head is a tight 7-3/4 or more comfortable 7-7/8 hat size. The core is a single flexible piece of plastic that just has to be flexed out to make the ear pieces fit over the head. The ear pieces do fold down to extend a bit at each end of the core, but while I can get the ear pieces all the way over my ears, it's not the most comfortable feeling to wear them. I would like them more if these could ratchet down even a few fractions of an inch on each side.By the way, I was wearing my reading glasses under the ear muffs and they still performed well for blocking the noise. If you have a larger head than mine, be sure to keep looking for a different set. If your hat size is the same or smaller, you would probably like these. I'm going to keep them. They're good enough for my needs and for the short duration of my wanderings with my snow machine. I could probably get used to them for the duration of a movie, too. I'll have to check that out sometime when my wife can talk me into going with her to a theater show, again.March 13, 2019: We had enough snow today to crank up the snow blower. Instead of using my earplugs with these, I just put the earmuffs on without the earplugs and they drowned out the noise from my two-stage, 8 hp snow blower just fine. Once I had these pulled down over my ears, they weren't all that uncomfortable over my sunglasses, either.

Larger than most, optimum noise cancellation
I bought a set of W**ker compact muffs from a big-box shop. They promised superb performance and simply failed. I don't have large ears but the muffs were way too small. Being in a sealed package makes a quick test untenable. This headset is snug but large enough for protracted wear and better suited to my clearly larger need. The 32dB rating is a bonus and overall quality is of a high standard. The included documentation is helpful and clear. I had already divined a plan to spread the Wa*ker tight-fitting units and this product actually advised the same process! Also, they came in a package that allowed me to check them without half-destroying the product. I'm ready to go shooting now without worrying about discomfort and distraction. If they last a while, at this price, It's a win.

Ear cups not wide enough
These seem to be pretty decent and they do block out sound but the ear cups are too narrow and dont sit well on my ears.

Decent ear muffs
Pro for Sho is really the only manufacturer of high NRR ear muffs on Amazon that sells to Australia at a reasonable price, which brings them to the forefront. The overall quality seems to be decent, there is plenty of foam in the cups which would indicate good noise dampening. The performance seems to be hold up to scrutiny, although all I have to compare them to are Australian made UniSafe RB44 29dB ear muffs. They definitely do better all around than the Unisafe's which is an encouraging sign. They do better with blocking bass frequencies which is always the achilles heel of ear muffs (when will ear muffs with active noise cancelling be invented?).I have a larger size head and these are large enough, the smaller ones would definitely have been too small for me. The materials seem good although time will tell if they degrade. This type of design is easily breakable so one needs to be careful not to place it near any heavy objects.

Not bad
I need to focus on work when my partner watches TV at times. It can somewhat block the TV level of noise but far from 100%. Ears also get sore after about an hour. May need to rest the headset over its box to enlarge the band and see how it goes.
