Good chain plyers for novice!
These do the job for casual bike owners who do their own work on their bikes.I have a lot of bike tools in my home shop but I needed a pair of chain plyers. These work great. The average bike owner will use the 10 times in their life and These will do the job

It works
I had not removed a chain quick link before, but really needed to give the chain a deep cleaning. This made removing the link easy, just squeeze the handle. Re-assembling the chain was also easy: insert the tool, pull the handles apart, and done. The tool seems quite sturdy.

Oumers Bike Link Plier
Works great, came on time as promised. Helps get the quick link both off & on. I tried & could not do it using only my hands. The tool made it easy!

Sturdy; can't beat the price...
I've been a fan of SRAM's Powerlink for a long, long time, but up to now have never needed a remover (primarily using 8 speed and PC-1 chains since I run gear hubs on my bikes). However I found myself in a pinch with my son's brand new bike with a 10-speed KMC chain with their "MissingLink Connector" (KMC's name for a master link similar to SRAM's Powerlink). I could not get this thing to let go. Amazon same-day delivery to the rescue. For the price, I gave this tool a go, even though I also bought the easily packable Wolf Tooth masterlink pliers, at over 3x the cost. I'll tell you this: the Wolf Tooth pack, and they work just fine, but they're not comfortable to use.I can't comment on the criticism that these pliers don't work in the opposite direction (for reinstallation), as that need hasn't arisen, but if it becomes something I think will be useful, I'll take to "grinding the nub" as the other Amazon reviewer mentioned. For me, these do exactly what they claim for the right price.

Worked for what I needed
I am not a professional by any sense of the word, I just needed something to take apart a chain once or twice, and these did the trick. I have no idea if they'll hold up over long spans of time and quite frankly I don't really care, I don't anticipate needing to use them a whole bunch.
