Great tool the the cost' good quality throughout. Why all the gripes? They're doing it wrong.
These pliers perform well. Some reviewers complain that these only open the link, but cannot close it, because they're trying to fit both jaws into the center of the Quick Link. That is incorrect. The proper way to use chain pliers is to put *one* of the jaws into the Quick Link, and put the other jaw into the next adjacent pair of link plates. The plier will spring open, holding itself in place. Lightly pull the handles apart, and the link pops and locks in place. Even easier: pliers are not even necessary to do this. Simply have the Quick Link on the top section of chain--between the cassette and the chain ring--and press down on a forward-facing pedal crank to apply tension to the chain. The link pops and locks in place. Dead simple.

Works. Good tool to have
Instead of dealing with a knotted chain when I squeeze back into the travel box, this helps open and close chain.

It works
I had not removed a chain quick link before, but really needed to give the chain a deep cleaning. This made removing the link easy, just squeeze the handle. Re-assembling the chain was also easy: insert the tool, pull the handles apart, and done. The tool seems quite sturdy.

Awesome luxury
After years of trying to make it work with a needle nose these are a wonderful upgrade in my life.

Worked for what I needed
I am not a professional by any sense of the word, I just needed something to take apart a chain once or twice, and these did the trick. I have no idea if they'll hold up over long spans of time and quite frankly I don't really care, I don't anticipate needing to use them a whole bunch.

bike chain link plier is a handy tool
Used this pliers already and it certainly works. I tried to break chain using hacks I viewed on Youtube but they did not work. This tool is what I needed. Very easy to break apart chain, and re-install chain. And it is a lot cheaper than buying it from a bike store. Thing is, I will only use this about once a year. But still very satisfied with purchase, value and reliability. Go for it!!!!

Great chain tool
I bought this 2 months ago and have used it 3 times. It is great quality and easy to use. It is comfortable in my hand (male). I do not have experience with the leading brands to compare, but this one worked perfectly.
