Worth the cost
So far so good. You would not believe how much lint the dryer [NEW] trap does not catch. Just need to find a good way to mount for ease of cleaning out box.

Easy to install
If you're like, me and your dryer vent goes up through your attic, having an extra lunt catcher is a must. I used to have a plastic one but since I've switched to this metal one it is great! It was easy to install and catches all the lint that the catcher misses.

A good product but the dryer vent hose is not the best
The lint trap seems to be well constructed but the included dryer vent hose is rather flimsy and when not fully extended effectively is a much smaller diameter than the 4 inch vent. Unless care is taken in the installation it could kink or constrict and restrict air flow somewhat. (just a conclusion from my observation of the small diameter of the foil while the tube was collapsed {about2.5 inches} and how easily the tube might get kinks in it).My solution was to buy a separate duct more rigid than the supplied aluminum foil duct. Also I was amused / surprised when I took a leaf blower to blow out the existing external vent (not easily seen because of obstacles )that a big matted wad of lint came flying out.I still give it a four star rating but if I did not also separately buy a different vent it might be 5 stars.

QUALITY counts
It was easy for a handyman to install. I could not have figured it out! It is metal and therefore will last a long time!

Mount it on its side
Cool idea but if you mount it the way it's pictured the lint falls right back down the hose when the dryer shuts off. If you mount it on its side it helps w this problem.

Can save you from a huge headache of cleaning out dryer lint from the main line...
'Supposedly' I had my dryer line cleaned out about 2 years ago but after having some recent issuesblowing Thermal fuses on our electric dryer, I discovered there was no way it was fully cleaned out.Unfortunately, our house layout means we have over 30 ft of dryer piping going to the exit.(basement front of house to back of house -)After a huge headache of trying to clean the clogs out with vacuum extensions, some awkward bodypositioning, sweating and quite a bit of cursing, I decided to look online to see what else could be done and came across this nifty little kit.Easy install but I do recommend getting some aluminum tape as the diameter of the inlet and outletson this box are a little smaller than my pipes so rather than have a not-so-great seal, i wrapped theinlet and outlet with aluminum tape and then secured the bottom and top dryer vent hose.On first few initial uses, I saw how it was catching some lint that was making it past the lint trap on the dryer. That alone gave me the reassurance that I made the right decision to purchase and install this kit!Do yourself a favor and add in this easy to clean secondary trap and alleviate clogs in your dryer vent line.

Can't remove filters
Fortunately, I tried this out before installing it. At first, I couldn't get the filters out at all. I finally got them out with a very strong grip, and managed to get them out with a lot of effort. There's no way I would try this after every few dryer loads when installed on the wall.k I repackaged it and returned it. I'll get one of the plastic ones instead. Someone should clue in the manufacturer that if either the track or the filter frame is of a different material, then they would slide better than if both are of the same material.
