Rainwater diverter for square downpipe
I have fitted diverters before and this one was relatively easy. I made sure the butt was exactly where I wanted it, followed the instructions on the bag carefully and it fitted well. It was raining as I finished and water was diverted to the butt with nothing going to drain. The following day after heavy rain the butt was full and all the remaining flow was diverted to the drain. So it worked perfectly! It is a very strong and sturdy diverter and worth the money.

Works, but does have a problem
I bought this diverter to colect rainwater from our bungalow roof into a very large water butt. It arrived quickly and the simple instructions are easy to follow. It worked well at first and the water butt filled quickly. The next time it rained the water butt started overflowing. I took the diverter out of the downpipe and found that it was completely clogged by debris from the roof. I checked the gutters and they were clear of any debris. It would seem that even the smallest debris washed off the roof collects in the diverter and clogs it. The only way that I have found to deal with this problem is to take the downpipe apart regularly and clean out the diverter. Not very convenient.

Sturdy well made diverter
Plastics feel strong enough to withstand outdoor climates. Pretty well designed product when comparing to others.I have randomly had slugs block these up though, and have no idea how to stop it. Leaves occasionally block it, so make sure it is easily accessible to maintain.Otherwise, does exactly what it is meant to do, diverts rain to a water butt!

Piece of cake to fit
Having recently moved to a property with a huge garden and metred water supply,, I needed to set up a rainwater collection system. This was really easy to fit - I am woman in my late sixties and had now difficulty at all setting it up , The arrow on the product shows which way up to fit the diverter [follow the instructions supplied]. No issues with leakage and now have plenty of water in my water butts to keep my very large garden moist and productive.

A pricey but essential purchase if you have a water butt
Firstly I hate DIY ! So when I have to do some repairs I need detailed instructions . Fortunately this product was very easy to install.. although cutting the drain pipe filled me with dread , I was able to install the diverted without too much trouble . We had to wait a week before it rained ! And then monsoon conditions kicked in and , hey , it works . So , with a product like this you either think it’s great , or you you will disagree and say it doesn’t work. Well for me it worked so, it’s great . Simple . One thing that did grate on me is that I could find a cheaper one in a local department store .. and I mean A LOT cheaper !
