Stumptown is one of my go-to beans! Named for their hometown of Portland, Oregon, which gained the nickname "Stumptown" due to all the logging that took place in the 1800s, leaving "more stumps than trees" (quote attributed to Captain John C. Ainsworth).Holler Mountain makes a lovely espresso drink. Not an overly dark roast, it has a smooth finish with none of the bitterness of the (far too common) super dark roasts that have become so common.

This is a nice tasting coffee but it brews a bit weak in my automatic machine. If you like a weak coffee this might be a good one to try. I prefer a bit more bold brew.

This is an excellent Arabica bean with full bodied aroma and flavor. It's different from other coffees I've enjoyed over the years in that it has a pronounced after taste/effect. It seemed to present a "ringing" flavor sensation at the finish. I can think of no other way to describe it. It could be the pH level, but I have no way to measure that. The bag mentions a fruitiness and that may be a clue. Whatever it is, I will continue to buy it and mix it with my french roast beans, which would be the right blend for my taste.

Nice flavor of plain coffee, but did not taste caramel nor hazelnut flavors at all.

Despite what the verbiage says...these beans were not shipped to Amazon from Stumptown. I ordered 2 bags and both were extremely bitter and sour - no good aroma - and terrible taste. I absolutely love Stumptown coffee...but whoever is providing these to Amazon is not storing them correctly (I phoned Stumptown to find out why they were so bad). Either buy from your local store or from Stumptown directly...but beware of the quality from whoever this vendor is.
