Q: Are these rated for outdoor use?

We are using a set on our front porch gate, altho covered, it opens to the outdoors. No problems.

Q: Could these be used on a 3/4 inch thickness door?

Yes they can be used on ¾ doors. The throat is really meant for a 1' so it week just look a little funny with the gap.

Q: I have a 1 1/4 inch door between my living room and mud room, will these fit that type of door. Also, are there good instructions on how to install it

Yes. Pre drill the holes .I found it hard to install do to how strong the springs are on the hinges. Other then that -they are nice
