Great idea, BAD QC
UPDATE: So, I've fought with this rack system and I finally found the solution for one of the main gripes I've been having. The anti sway rubber cups are useless. Throw them away and order a set of these ( https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07SCS4VKD?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details ) to put in place of the ones sent with the rack. You may or may not want a washer between the back side of the spacer and the adjustment nut. I added this to the rack and retightened all the bolts and so far, it's holding up much better. I'm still disappointed with the QC of the joins and tube mating tolerances but the movement in the rack is now gone.ORIGINAL POST:I love the concept and this could be a fantastic product. However, it has some major issues that need to be addressed. First off, every single male-female connection is extremely loose. The workmanship on the joins is horrible. whoever turned the tubing did the cuts very unevenly. The fit of the pieces is so loose that you can shift the joins with your hand very easily. The anti sway bumpers that come with the kit are cheesy as hell. It's almost as if they cobbled that together at the last minute. But, they do work. I just wonder how badly they'll effect the finish on the Jeep over time. The kit came with parts that had finish worn off of them from shipping I assume. This package is over 80 pounds shipped so expect some movement in the parts in the box. The protection used is inadequate. The small parts such as screws and knobs and such come in a box in the main box. This was ripped open during shipping and the bags with those parts were moving around in the big box freely. Thankfully, nothing was missing.Installation was not to bad. I was able to install this in around 3 hours. I did have a Rugged Ridge light bar over the windshield that had much better QC and was rock solid. This in comparison has way to much flex and shift. I purchased this to put a small basket and kayak rack on my Jeep. It will be interesting to see how the rack handles the kayak and off road travel.I've attached a few photos of the joins on my rack to show as an example of what I am discussing. I will run with this Sherpa Rack for a while and see how it performs and give an update in a few months. As it stands now, I'm not impressed with the build quality or workmanship. I mentioned that this is a great idea and if Rugged Ridge can get QC under control, it would be a great set up to use. Right now, would I buy it again? Nope.

Sherpa Rack - Very Well Made
This rack fit my needs exactly in that I wanted a versatile design that could be configured to carry everything from plywood to a boat and even attach a cargo rack or roof mounted tent. The built in light bar is an added bonus and really makes the base rack even more functional--not to mention it looks great. The Sherpa rack is very well made and compliments the lines of the jeep. The materials used in the design and the finish on the rack are impressive. The install was straight forward without any issues, running the wires inside the front hoop was the worst part and that was easy enough. It works perfectly well with my Rugged Ridge Snorkel too. I highly recommend this item to anyone looking at adding a rack and not wanting to break the bank.

poor quality
This is truly a poor excuse of a product. Simple to install, decent design and function. The manufacture quality is of the worst available. Now that it's installed, driving between 25 MPH on up to 55 MPH, the wind noise is deafening. Sounds like a child endlessly blowing into a flute. Ear plugs are a must while driving. Currently looking for an alternate roof rack.

Great Rack, Poor Instructions
I'm very happy with the quality of the rack. It fit my 2014 Wrangler Unlimited quite well and looks great. I don't give it 5 stars because the instructions while clear enough, omit several items that are included in the kit. It's not hard to figure out where the pieces go, but it really should be spelled out clearly. Also, a few of the holes in the tubes did not line up correctly. It was easy enough to open them up with a drill, so not a big deal, but I can't give it 5 stars. I would recommend this product as I really like it. I just want people who read my review to know they may experience a few minor issues during the install, most of which would be fixed with better instructions.

Flawed but good
I’m just going to shorten this review and make a list of the good and the bad in my experienceGood:••• looks good••• easy to assemble••• seems like it could hold a bit of weight••• good powder coating on the product••• RELATIVELY affordable••• easy to add things to it.Overall I really like design of the roof rack. My main reason for buying it was to add the optional light bar to the front, and add a basket that I could keep on while my hard top is removed. I would and have recommend it to friends. That being said mine came with some defects and I noticed a few things that could improve fit and finish and customer satisfaction.Bad:••• had bends at the ends on a couple of the pipes. I believe that a higher quality metal would improve the value of the rack tremendously.••• the holes for running lights and wires along the top bar are impossible to use without destroying the wires you run through there.••• the flat mating surface where the rack meets the windshield bars does not sit flat on the drivers side.••• the instructions pertaining to the rubber body bumpers made no sense at all, and after trying every combination of nuts, washers and the bolt they sit about an inch away from the body on either side. They’re also made out of a very course and sharp rubber that seems like it would mess paint up pretty quick.••• the seam along the Front of the top bars running the length of the cab has a lot of side to side movement••• some of the seams don’t line up good at all. Along my windshield where the seams are on driver and passenger sides there is an 1/8” gap.••• I believe that for the price we are paying for it, we should be getting the adapters and bars for running a basket too. It’s in the description photos..
