These lovely lamps i bought - from my home in Massachusetts -for my sister in Ireland after her power was out for two weeks after storm Eowyn blew through the country (and for another week after she received them). Shipping from the US to her would have cost $68, but it is free with Prime thru the amazon.uk! She couldn't get oil/ lamps or candles -which i also bought her- as the stores were sold out. Best part- she can keep the lamps out all year, not just for a power outage. Win win! They look fantastic, bigger than i thought, and she is thrilled with them!

These look really good and that is what drew me to them, however from a functional point of view, they are not so good. They do not burn clean and no matter how small you make the wick, it just burns with black acrid smoke which I assume is from the plastic coating on the wick. This is turn omits black particles into the air.Its a shame as they look great with the oil in, but I will be return this as not fit for purpose.

Get a big flame from them which helps to keep the midges at bay with citronella oil in.

These come really well protected in the packaging, so much so in fact they are a bit stubborn to remove.These look lovely in the blue glass and one will be used on our patio and the other we will probably put in the place we rent abroad as at times there are a lot of bitey things buzzing around.The wick in these is approx. 15 x 132mm, there are slightly smaller and shorter and also longer ones that can be cut to size available on Amazon for a fair price. The cap is easy to remove but can be a bit fiddly to get back on. I have not used them yet as summer, if you can call it that has gone, and so have the mozzies.The price £13.99 for 2 at the time of review I think is good value for money and I think the blue looks great.
