Q: Have they fixed the flickering issue?

I bought one with a build date before August 17 and sent it back to AOC. They exchanged it for one with a build date in October. The flicker issue was better but not completely fixed. Still had minor flickering issue as well as a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen. Got an RMA from AOC and they agreed to a full refund, even though it was purchased from Microcenter. Good customer service from AOC.

Q: Is the 100hz refresh rate the default or the overclocked rate? In comparison the x34 predator has a 60hz refresh but 100 overclock.

Capable of 100hz without overclock. Default rate is 60hz.

Q: I see that there are lights. are they rgb/programmable? can you turn them off?

You can choose from Red, Blue or Green, but not rbg. You can choose between 3 intensity levels or choose to turn off. The 4 lit bars on the back of the monitor look amazing. If it's against a wall, it acts like accent lighting.
