They're the Real Deal
I was skeptical for obvious reasons. After decades in the construction industry in basically any climate imaginable - I'm pretty sure I know what to expect from my boots/socks (smell wise). Everything I've worn over the years made little difference/impact on what it smelled like after a long days work. I figured why not try 'silver socks?' I tried these and I am truly impressed. They ARE the real deal. First day - no smell. Okay, that's good but can they take another day of beating and still tame the smell monster? YES! I didn't pick a new pair of socks - I just put these right back on and put them to the test and they kept the monster in check again. They are also quite comfy. I highly recommend!

Great socks
I used these socks in April and May on a 600Mile hike in Northern Spain on the Camino Frances. The weather was during the hike was unseasonably cool and rainy. The socks performed brilliantly and I had no blisters. Highly recommend! Also ended up with a small hole in the big toe after 38 days and 600 miles. They replaced the socks (lifetime warranty)!

Great Hiking Socks
Good sizing, rugged & durable. Help provide foot stability & prevents foot slippage within your shoes even as your foot develops moisture from a long hike. My first choice for hiking socks.

Snug and warm and wearing well.
These medium length hiking socks from Silverlight were an impulse order, because really do I need warm hiking socks in Florida?Actually medium length hiking socks are great anywhere, especially when they combine Merino wall and silver. They felt warm like any boot socks do, but never uncomfortably hot. My feet never felt swampy or sticky, and at the end of the day they didn't look like they'd been hard at work all day and didn't smell like it either.I tend to size between a 10.5 and an 11, and there was no sizing information beyond small/medium/large, etc when I ordered so I pitched for the large and they are spot on. Snug but not tight, just what I want from a boot or hiking sock. There is just enough stretch to keep them moving with you, without them feeling loose or shifting too much.My only confusion was that the socks are marked "L" and "R" but on the outside of the feet. I wasn't paying attention when I first pulled them on, and as my other "sided" socks have the foot identifier over the big toe I absentmindedly pulled these on an realized I'd got them on the wrong feet. They felt okay, but I thought I better swap them and see if it made any difference. It didn't. Although marked left and right these socks feel exactly the same on either foot and a good look at the pattern didn't reveal any specific weave or compression designed for one foot or the other. They've washed well, with no noticeable change in size, and the blend includes nylon thread which will hopefully help with longevity and they'll be with me for many miles to come. Aside from wondering why they are left and right footed they are great socks. A solid 4 out of 5 stars.

Best socks for hiking
I wore these on my 500 mile hike across Spain. They protected my toes from rocks and kept my feet dry during periods of rain. After walking in them they didn’t smell either. I would say you could go for three days without washing them. And no blisters!

Collects debris
On the heel and toe the material gets nappy quickly and debris like dead grass is super attracted to it. Sticks right in there and you can't remove it easily at all. These socks are also very heavy.

Really comfortable
These socks are really comfortable compared to others. They aren't too tight around the calf (at least on me) and they aren't too tight on a wide foot (like mine). The heel is where it should be and not at the arch (like socks that are too small) or above the ankles (like socks that are too big). They wick moisture away well and didn't hold odor because they breathe well. They are comfortably warm but not as warm as other socks I have. These are well constructed and good quality materials and workmanship. I rate them at 5 stars for quality and comfort. I think these are a good value for the price because of the overall quality. I feel the quality justifies the price.
