Solomon the King, was the second son of David and Bathsheba and the third King of Israel. He ruled around the 10th century BC. Traditions in Hebrew, Syriac, Arabic and Ethiopic all hold that King Solomon was a master magician and that he had authority over all the spirits as he had over the birds and beasts. The five pointed star pentagrams is one of the oldest and most potent of all Talismans. Sometimes known as the SHIELD OF SOLOMON.
