Too early to review?
Not caught anything yet. Update: I was told to leave a 5 star review just to get a free thermometer and humidity monitor (when I bought this useless piece of machine, there was a card which came with it saying that when you review, you get a free thermometer but what they really meant is 'leave a 5 star review and get a free thermometer).

Didn't work with flies
We bought this to combat the numerous flies we have in our house as we live near a farm and get more than our fair share. I know the product name says mosquito killer but we took a gamble as the customer Q and A said it worked with flies. Well it didn't work with our flies. We have 3 or 4 in the kitchen most of the time and none were attracted to this device. I had it running for 4 days and it killed 4 flies. In that same time I must've killed over 35 with a good old fly swat. I tried it in different positions and away from a window as suggested in the instructions but no joy.The instructions are really poorly translated and are hard to work out what exactly is meant. One sentence I did understand was the claim that it works with all insects, not in our experience.Shame, it looks reasonable quality and modern design is light years ahead of the competition. I've now returned it.

Good as a purple light, poor as a zapper.
After looking at a ton of big zappers and deciding on this one due to the fact that it’s going in our home kitchen and it was a much better looking unit than any of the other bug zapper designs available. The cable is very short, but that suited our needs just fine, the packaging was good and the first impressions were great. Looks good (It’s not exactly winnng awards, but what purple coloured light would?), reasonably well assembled and feels like a fair quality product, however.... Does it attract and zap bugs? On the first point no, the bugs just fly past it - we even had one land on the top of it!!! As to whether or not it zaps them, no idea as it hasn’t zapped anything yet, it’s been running for 2 days. Pointless - have ordered another bug zapper with a normal commercial tube as although this looks better, it doesn’t actually seem to kill anything.

Lacks the light intensity needed to attract flies.
This has truly been disappointing, looks good but the flies crawl on it, fly round it but in one week of use with more flies than I care to count in the house, it has zapped nothing. It just doesn't seem to have the light intensity needed to attract them, even when the room is dark it has done nothing for my fly problem.

Potentially kills mosquitoes, doesn't kill flys
Bought this to kill flies in our kitchen, now we notice it's called a mosquito killer and indeed it has killed a mosquito, however it has absolutely no effect on the flies, funny thing is we had no mosquitos until we put this in.So, if you want to kill mosquitos then it may be good, if you want to kill flys then don't bother. It does however emit a pretty purple light if you fancy holding a party in your kitchen ,,,

Not effective at all!
Sorry this just hasn't worked in our kitchen at home, in a matter of days it seems that 3 unfortunate lies have been zapped to death and fallen to the tray and the remainder of the flies in the kitchen area has not decreased, we have gone back to old fashioned fly papers instead, unsightly but really effective!

Rubbish for houseflys
It's rubbish for houseflys !!!I live near a farm in quite a rural area so when summer comes there's waves of fly's I put it up and waited for over a week and it hasn't caught or zapped one single fly save your money and buy a plastic fly swatter for £1 it's a thousand times more effective
