The bag I would have had custom made -- but I didn't need to
I bought this as a flight bag to carry all my personal items and electronic devices--all the things you keep on your body as you can't afford to lose them. There is a perfect spot for every single item. My 15" laptop and charger, ipad, kindle, power bank, passport, etc. Compartments great for files/papers/folders/binders. Zippers are super smooth. Fits perfectly on handle of carry-on. The ability to store a day or two of clothing in the expandable compartment if needed. Fits all these items and more in a super well organized manner, in a more compact form than the backpack I was using. Much more efficient use of space and so much easier to find everything. The only minor gripes I had that I felt didn't quite merit a half star deduction were two things. One: this model has no key hook to strap your car keys onto (I believe the other model does). Two: I passionately dislike the handles. They don't feel nice to hold, don't fit together well in your hand, and have no strap to keep them together (I will probably add one). The handles also kind of get in the way when accessing the front pocket which is a tad annoying. Again, neither of these issue would stop me from buying it again, but I'd offer those improvements to B&R personally. Also, the lifetime warranty can't be beat. I can see myself travelling with this personally and professionally for life.

Solid but not innovative
Material and construction are what you would expect from Briggs & Riley. My only caveat is the handles. They are leather folded over and actually look a bit like what you would find on a cheaper briefcase. They also are not the most comfortable if you are carrying the case for an extended period. Of the handles on my Briggs & Riley luggage.Originally I ordered the small briefcase which is really more what I need for every day, but the measurements are from the outside only and because of the way that the corners are constructed the inside dimensions are quite a bit smaller. it had outside dimensions of 14 in but I could not fit a 13-in lap stop on the inside, so, I opted for this larger version. When you expand the bag you could put in enough clothes for an overnight visit as well as pack your laptop and other essentials. The pen holders at the front of the first compartment are not very helpful. They will only hold a very narrow pen and they can make it difficult to get further down into the compartment. I've used them to jury rig a key fob with an extension so I can open my door without taking the keys out of the briefcase. It would be nice if this feature were built in.Overall it a solid bag and I trust will not self-destruct like my last two, by another manufacturer, did while I was in Asia. It is built to last. The synopsis is that it is an extremely well-made bag but there is nothing special about the way they have designed the organization, the handles, or the strap.

Underwhelming. Looks very cheap, but isn't.
Received from Amazon today in a thin plastic bag inside a plastic Amazon mailing bag (no box whatsoever). The actual bag was all rumpled. It looks and feels very cheap. The photos and manufacturer videos are very deceiving. Photos much better than the bag in person. It is from China, and looks like it probably cost Briggs & Riley $5 to have it made. I am very disappointed. Returning and will probably spend a couple hundred more dollars to get the really nice, well-made bag that Briggs & Riley obviously copied (unsuccessfully).

Completely compatible with Briggs & Riley luggage!
I have the expandable and non-expandable baseline domestic carry-on spinner and it easily fits over both handles. An amazing bag and I'm glad I've purchased it!!!

Not comparable with Briggs & Riley carry-on!
If you own a Briggs and Riley carry-on (eg Basline collection) do not buy this bag as it will not slip over the handle. The slot for the handle is about 2-3 cm too narrow and therefore doesn’t work. This is a terrible design flaw as there is plenty of room for them to have made it wider. How on earth B&R could make this mistake is beyond me. I love their products in general but this one is a big miss!
