As an advocate for gentle parenting, I used this book to talk to my son about this behaviour. It helped reinforce and teaching my toddler that hitting isn’t kind. It’s really user friendly for both parents and children.

This book has help my child understand to keep his hands to himself. This book was well written and was well illustrated

My nearly 3 year old is now going through the phase of hitting if things are not done his way .. I be hoped that this will help him to learn that he can express his feelings other way and that hitting is no good. This book content talks very little about hitting itself but goes on and on about what hands are for or can be used for. So my little one dimes not get the message. I think it would be more appropriate when he gets older therefore I am keeping it , but not the best one for feisty toddler.

Really like this! Lots of talk about all the positive things hands can do and a sympathetic look at why they are not for hitting. Very simple and easy to understand

If you're struggling with this phase too just get it! I literally read this twice and it got through to my 2 year old. If he needs reminding he will show me his hands and say "kind hands dont hit"Life saver.

We bought this for our 7 year old foster child who was having problems controlling her anger. She really loves the book and will respond when we prompt her with some of the phrases used in the story. It will be a long time before she stops hitting but at least we can now talk about the subject in an "unthreatening" way and she is more likely to laugh than go into tantrum. We are making progress - slowly but surely!

I am sure this book would have been great and was looking forward to reading it but it was damaged by the delivery driver so I sent it back
