The best balance between price and quality. Amazing performance. Highly recommended.
This is a very well made and functional steam iron. Of the tens of irons available here I found this to be the best of the lot in terms of performance, features and pricing. The heating time from off to cotton is around 40 seconds which is the main reason I chose this 2000 watt version over the other cheaper lower watt Philips irons. So by the time I spread out the cloth for ironing on the board, this is perfectly heated up and I don't have to waste time waiting for the iron to reach its ironing temperature. The steam pressure is very good, much better than my older Philips steam iron. And the setting for the steam pressure allows you to choose heavy steam content, light steam or short bursts of very intense pressure or Steam Boost function for those stubborn denim creases. You can also switch off all steam and use it as a regular iron if you want. There is a spray function as well which allows you to manually spray water just ahead of the tip of the iron if you want to get the maximum amount of moisture for tricky corners or edges. The faceplate is coated with a non stick coating that makes it even smoother to glide over nearly every type of fabric. The plug is our normal light 5-Amp light socket and does not require a power socket. That means we can plug it nearly everywhere without having to change the plug on the iron and losing its warranty. In case you have hard water in your home or water with high mineral content and end up clogging the holes on the face plate, there is a cleaning function that allows to the unclog everything by just filling the iron up with water, heating it to full and then unplugging it. Then setting the control lever to clean and holding it hot over a sink while it forces pressurized water out from the nozzle to clean up the holes. In case any servicing or repairs are ever required, Philips has many service centers in nearly every city in India so that should not be a problem. This is definitely a point to consider when buying any appliance - the after sales service. All in all, this is a great iron for daily use and its from a nationally recognized and loved brand. Highly recommended.

One Cool - But Hot Iron! Recommended
This is a cool iron! The irony is evident and the product does deserve this comment, after having researched every steam iron on the Philips line-up I came to this mainly due to the product reviews both inside of Amazon and internet. The product falls at a perfect price range of of not going beyond the 2k mark and getting the right kinda things for the price. So coming on to the product, it does the job quite with finesse. The product gets hot quite quick and is easy to handle. There is a bit of weight when you come from a dry iron point of view, so added with the water weight it may be a bit heavier, but not uncomfortable. What I liked about the product:* Sleek design and cool colors. Adds elegance instantly.* The product is built with good quality plastics, so you dont feel any flimsy bits on this iron. Even the cap for adding water is built to last.* Good thick handle, it makes ironing a more comfortable affair even for smaller hands.* The weight of the iron is evenly distributed so you dont have to worry about tilts* The iron does glide over clothes - literally* Gets heated up quite fast and it holds the heat* Steamer is quite good and each mode (eco, steam burst 1 and steam burst2) does provide you ample amount of steam power.* No dripping!* Good set of instructions out of the box, also the product instructions are quite helpful if you are using steam iron for the first time.(me!!)I think I have said enough praises for the product. There has been no issues so far, with a weeks use. The sole plate is holding good and no new scratches. Now coming on to the gripes about the product:* I blame the handling - there was one scratch at the bottom of the sole plate. It seems to be a manufacturing defect, but it is small so I haven't opted for a replacement.* It is *not* ceramic sole plate, it is golden heritage soleplate from Philips. This seems to be the trouble on their website too, I have asked Philips customer care about this, will update on their reply.and that is it. As you will have already understood, this is definitely a recommended product and the negatives that I faced are too small to make one drop the decision. And a special mention to Olympia Industries Ltd (seller) to have patiently answered my queries!

Quality and Comfort
The Iron is not comfortable and buttons not working after 6 months.Quality is too bad the temperature control button stopped working in 6 monthsThe water sprinkler does not workProducts should be Quality Check by Amazon as I see we are marking them as Amazon Choice, giving discounts but these kind of products are of low quality and not durable. Simply fooling the users with discounts but it is not worth.

Good iron
The media could not be loaded. My decades old Rowenta iron fell so has to get another... Decided to get Phillips, overall it's decent, however doesn't come near the class of Rowena (made in Germany, which gives a professional iron result with just one drag of the iron over the cloth)... 16amp plug point needed, won't plug into 5 amp easily. It's refreshingly lightweight, but that means i had to go over the fabric with the hot iron (on linen mode) a few times to get the creases out.... No drip yet...i always use RO water so generally never face calcification issue with iron. Generally need iron for cotton and linens which actually get v creased after wash, so wish it got hotter and had a bigger plate as that would speed up ironing which is never something pple enjoy doing especially in Summers... Someone's review mentioning that this iron is working well since 10yrs so prompted me to buy it..For now, I'll keep it and see performance, hope it lasts 10 yrs!April 5, called Amazon as price of same iron dropped to 1780/-, mine was delivered 30th March and i paid 2380/- ...but they said they can't do anything... Mine is still within return window ... Disappointed ☹️After using for a year, it's a good iron
