Got in an accident a while ago and it was a nightmare dealing with the police and insurance to prove that I was not at fault because there was no actual footage of the events that occurred live. Having this dash cam will make that process go so much quicker and easier if something like this happens again in the future (hopefully it will not). I specifically really like the Miden car camera has a high-performance G-sensor so that when the vehicle collides, the recorder will automatically save and lock the current video as evidence. The parking monitor & night vision is also very nice. Would highly recommend!

The camera I received has a firmware issue, it re-initializes every 1-5 minutes in conjunction with the film loop time. I emailed the vendor and received a quick response asking if I would accept a replacement unit. They sent a complete new set. This one works as designed. I design and install electronic automation systems and understand programming issues can arise occasionally. I rated 5 stars as not only does the product perform well but the vendor was excellent in their response to the issue. I will use this item in the future when I replace older units in other vehicles.

If you're having the problem of it constantly restarting, the problem is it only works on the "cyclic recording: 3 minute" setting for some reason. The rear camera is not meant to be mounted inside like I have it, and you can barely see out of it. You'll have to actually mount on the back for it to be useful. The included SD card stopped working after 2 months so I had to swap it out.Otherwise, it works great and it's the cheapest cam I could find on Amazon so you get what you pay for!

A nice camera for the price.The User Manual leaves out one important detail. How to get into the System Setup Menu. The camera automatically powers up into record mode. To change system settings, take a photo or playback files you need to get into the Systems Menu. The User Manual tells you, in standby mode press the Menu button, but no clue how to get into standby mode. I finally found the answer on manufacturer's web site midenbuy.com. After a very long description of the product, right near the bottom is a single sentence."When you need to access the menu settings, first press OK button to stop recording."That would have been really helpful to be included in the users manual. I was at the point of returning the camera until I stumbled on that little gem. Getting ready to install in vehicle.I tried installing this camera in my 2020 Honda CRV. On that model, the power outlet is inside the console. Unless you run the power cable diagonally under the passenger side floormat, the power cord is too short. You might need to buy a cigarette lighter extension cord, available on Amazon. I ended up installing the camera in my 2019 Nissan Frontier that has the power outlet under the dash. More than enough cable for that model.I would have rated this camera 4 star had it not been for the missing information in the users manual. Can't really blame Miden for where Honda chose to put the power connector. Power cable is more than long enough for vehicles that have the power outlet under the dash.

Setting up the dash cam is relatively straightforward, and I appreciate the flexibility of saving video files in different intervals (1, 3, or 5 minutes, or as one large file.)The video quality is quite decent, though not true HD. The footage is clear enough to capture important road events. Audio recording is pretty good too.One drawback is the rear camera mount, which lacks adjustability, making it a bit of a puzzle to align perfectly to the angle I would like, but in all honesty it performs reliably for its price range. Its features like loop recording and automatic recording for impacts brings me more reassurance than driving without one. Overall, this dash cam is a great choice for anyone seeking essential features without breaking your pocket book.
