Sony ICD-UX560F Digital Voice Recorder with Built-in USB (Black)

The recorder is very sleek and extremely light weight. Great recording sound quality for recording during meetings even without PA systems. Can heal all the different people speaking from different parts of the meeting room-should use headphones during playback for accurate sound reproduction-make sure the two microphones are facing upwards if you are keeping the recorder in your shirt pocket- best is to keep the microphone end on the table facing the speakers. Very good charge holding- i charge once a week for 6 to 10 recordings. Easy to connect via the built in slide out USB jack, drag and drop the files into PC or Mac. The built in 4GB memory itself is great. If you want to do long recordings you have an option of adding an SD card. The display is monochrome, but very easy to read. While recording a red light flashes- a very useful feature to know that it is indeed recording, but this can be put off in settings if you want.

After reading the manual, made changes in settings and tested along with iPhone 7 Plus voice recorder app, (1) Placed both in jean pant pocket & (2) Placed both near washbasin with flowing water. My 15 minute settings tweaking efforts worked! Recordings in both devices are now similar and noise levels dropped by 75% in Sony recorder, with my voice from 1 feet to 8 feet distances recorded is now clearly audible, including my foot steps.Initially completely unsatisfied with this voice recorder, very noisy, low audible voice with just 25% of my iPhone 7 Plus quality-voice recording capability. I felt guilty for buying after reading the negative reviews in Amazon website. Now opinion changed.I put this feather weight device in my shirt pocket and started recording my conversations with friends outdoors. I didn’t feel any burden, felt like a pen held in pocket. Screen OFF or ON, didn’t matter, I gently clicked the red button with recorder still in shirt pocket to pause or start the recording. No heavy pressure required. Great device. I got this for my wife who is a stenographer.The microphone's pickup is awesome. It picks up even small sniffles and micro-coughs. Voice clarity is beyond belief. And this is without any external microphone attachment !Audio playback - that is another matter altogether. The built-in speakers simply do not do the device any justice. And from SONY !!! Argh. But, plug in even a normal/cheap set of headphones and you will experience the stunning clarity of the playback.Yes, if you are buying this, you better also have a set of headphones to listen to the playback.The UX on the screen of the device is horrible. But it is functional and it works.

Bought it few years back,is good value for money

Hi Everybody, first of all thanks to Sony company for designing this beautifully made portable Digital Voice Recorder. Such a nice and wonderful product for multipurpose usage in day today lifestyle. If i have to say about MIc (Built-in Micro Phone) quality, "OMG" fantastic clarity i would say. As claimed by company it's record range is almost 10 to 15 meters quality reception. I have been using this product for recording outdoor sounds and group discussions. It really delivers the best output than what i expected. Only draw back of this voice recorder is " it doesn't allow us to transfer files directly to PC and no Bluetooth option". BUt overall it's definitely worth for money.

1. The product does not allow me to name the recording files. It becomes very cumbersome to search for the files.2. The product stopped working all of a sudden without any reason or cause. I am struggling to get it serviced.3. I wonder why Amazon cannot have the invoice readily available with the VAT and CST details available for a download. Why does a request need to be placed ?
